Menu Plan Monday

Another week of meals to tend too...

The daily bread is rising and a carrot cake in the oven...
making what I have into something for the family to enjoy.
Our camp trip was a bit of a splurge this last week and so I have to be a bit extra creative this week.
It was so well worth it though.

My little family is refreshed.
I even feel like mopping the kitchen floor today just because.

This week I am going to make a conscience effort to get the cooking done before 1 p.m. as much as I am able .

This last year I was able to reduce our electric bills $28. every month (we are on an average of the 12 months cycle) this by hanging clothing out more often and also loading up the oven when I use it.
It is called the time of use plan.
In the summer here in the desert the high price time of use is between 1p.m. and 8 p.m.

Those items on menu that are easily re-heated will then be cooked before the heat of the afternoon. Perhaps the electric company in your area might offer this type of program.

We have a program like that here but we have never looked into it... Now that the utilities are going to be going up due to the new laws passing, I might want to look into it.. I have told DH for a year or so now to put me out a clothes line... I love to hang clothes outside....

Have a thrifty week!

I need to look into that plan! Are you in AZ? We are and wow, it sure is hot! Sandwiches tonight, we can't stand to heat up the kitchen in the summer. I am about to plan a menu for the next couple of weeks and there will be lots of "non-cooking" going on, LOL! Have a blessed week!

Carrot Cake?! I love carrot cake with vanilla ice cream, my mom makes the best carrot cake from scratch, but she wont put walnuts in it for me cause I HATE walnuts! it was 111 here yesterday, ICK! I'm going to buy one of those fold away dryers for my towels, sheets and whites. on my days off I cook early and most of the time I use my crock pot and if its not too hot I'll BBQ. Have a blessed day and stay cool.
Love ya~

I have not heard of that! But I try and do as much cooking (on weekends) for two or more meals, and re-heat as necessary in the micro. Weeknight meals (since I work during the day) are usually QUICK things.

I LOVE having breakfast for supper! Eggs, sausage, grits etc.

You ALWAYS inspire me to do more!!!!

I love you dearly and CANNOT wait until October!!!

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
