Adoption day #9 for my Dash Hawk

 My sweet Christmas baby.
It was actually on December 8th that the Russian Judge said "Yes"!
The joy overflowed as we all exited that court room on that cold winder morning. We were so head spun at the favor and mercy we were shown that day. We were given the favor by people who were so very poor. They would step aside as if we were royalty. Humbly my eyes filled with tears. We who were the least of all people were placed as if we were at the the head of the table.

We walked back to the orphanage and on the path there was a snowman along an open space where some apartments were.It was made by a child, sweet and innocent. Living here in the desert it was a special sight for us. In my memory there is the sight of it. Every day as we went to visit him at the orphanage it would shrink melting. Just like the time line of the trip every day getting closer to being home with our daughter. Our whole little family home for Christmas.
Our Whole family. This family, my family. Waiting 16 years for dove and for Dash ...
I waited 20 years to hold a son, my son. My son.
We got a Russian truck. He was so funny, phonetically reading the package. He had us all laughing.
Our son brings us so much joy every day. One of his nick names that I call him is
"SUNNY MAN"

when I saw this cake it was perfect! On the way to the store to get it I saw myself going elsewhere. I walked into the store and right to this cake. IT WAS Perfect!

On another note...
Amrita my dear friend asked an important question.

Please don 't min d me asking , I don 't wan t to offend - but I am just curious to know in America how do people cope with house dust - you all don' t have maids to do your dusting an d with all the decorations, ho w you manage everyday dusting? I suppose American cities don' t have dust.

Oh we have dust! Water and a wrung cotton cloth that's it. With the wood I'll dry it after. With trinkets an old tooth brush. Again only water is used. If it is oily dust a pan with dish soap added to water works for me. Baking soda and vinegar are two other favorite tricks. A half of lemon on the kitchen counters with baking soda.

Well you all have a good evening. As for me I had a sick kid on Monday. Today I had to go in to the doctor with Bronchitis and sinus infection, caught it short of pneumonia bless God. I have sat still resting all day.
Tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. I have to testify in a trial as a witness. See this old post.
Please pray
Infusion on Saturday so I am really in a dangerous state to have to go. My doctor said sit still 48 hours, NO Crowds~  I will ware a mask to protect myself.
I have to read over that blog post.
This is the same trial that has been postponed every 3 months sense 2007!  I am the ONLY witness left!

Love Languages. A wonderful Aniversary day

This Wonderful Husband/ friend/ lover of mine
spent the day giving to me many wonderful gifts.
Last night he got to hear the washer , appalled he said
"you have been putting up with that"?

The bearing has gone out again .
Two years back he had to replace it.

With all the overtime I had not mentioned it to him...

Then...

Thursday he drove the truck "he said Hun this thing is pulling!"
So we postponed the forest until the marrow.

Today He took the children with him and ran errands to get the parts and the buns for lunch burgers.
He removed the old parts and bought the part and replaced the bearing and the washer is as new. He even replaced a cosmetic part so it looked pretty as new. It now is so nice to see that the washer does not look like an old piece of junk unkempt and such. See he knew my heart. He knew these things hindered me and his priority is to make my life as wonderful as he is able.

We never hire these things for we research and do it our self.
Doing this has saved us tens of thousands over our years together.
We both happen though to be very machanically inclined.

We dropped off the Truck and the guarantee was still active.
They thought we may have hit a pot hole.
Steve and I both think they forgot to tighten a bolt

Last night he had to remove the toilet because I accidentally had my debit card fall out of my jeans back pocket...
:(
He got it, and it was no easy or pleasant task.

It got flushed...
Steve fixed it.
He NEVER once spoke any ridicule or resentment.
He even had a very good laugh.
He, after doing that horrible job made me feel better about it by bringing in humor where I was so sorry to have caused the issue (even though it was a simple accident) that and I was terribly embarrassed.

He set the tent up in the back yard and rigged a light for them.
for disappointed children for we put the trip north off for the morrow.
They camped out in it last night and will again tonight.
(The dogs are with them and guard them well)
The tent is just outside our bedroom door.

This morning the kids were bothered that Daddy did not give me a gift.
What one day I hope to help them, and others understand is that...

He is the gift.
His heart gives in his own voice.
This evening he replaced the seal on the glass shower door.
This was on a "to do" list that he never has a chance to tend too doing 10 hour days.

He gave an evening to a sister in need , loving her with the kindness that she so needed from a brother. She is my dear friend. Those I love ...he loves as well . Deeply caring about who and what I care about.

After this long day as he always does he defers to me..."Hun, Would you like the first shower to heat soak your back and make it feel better....Always concidering me before himself.

My gifts to him today...
He was thrilled to have the new shop layout. It worked out so well to be able to do the washer job.
I planted some more peas in the garden, gave all the veggie and flowers some fish emulsion to help set more buds = more crop and flowers. Harvested raddish and peas.
Fed the tomatoes. I centered and renewed my mind by making what was important to me priority. He loves it when I do that for then I thrive.
Then The sweet peas that were planted last month outside the kitchen window are now set to climb a trellis. Several Mammoth sunflowers now are planted and some Indian blanket flowers too. A few more 4 o'clock's are in (flowers).
The wonderful Iris now have a better view for I trimmed the Indian Paint brush.
Lunch/ dinner
The flower beds cleared of spent flowers and leaves.
Creating beauty around us.

I am the gift given to him.

This is our marriage.
This is a union.

It is not in what we expect from each other...no.

It is in who/what we recieve in/and from each other.
It is who we are to each other.
Love spoken and silent.
All around us and in us,
and trough us.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
It has been an awesome day!

March 20th 1982 My love for you is deathless.

Nine months later It was my first Christmas with you...

My Darling "it's Kissmass (the movie Glory) everyday"...

She is so young and full of promise.
Your the reason her potential was tapped.
HE used you darling to heal her.

We have fought out battles and won the war over the darkness...
He has won that war long ago for us, yet we endured the battle.

Now 27 years later...

You captured her my love...
As the Song of Salomon, you have embraced my soul.
You have taken away from me the things that hid me.
A safe haven have you are for me.
Your Love the first I had known...
Unconditional as any man would be able.
Yet you Love for God made you more than able.
Able you then became... because you first loved me.

It is to you who lay down your life for me daily
For our children...
My love for you is deathless...

This is our love letter of humility
That we remember who we are.

Solomon Ballou died on July 21, 1861- at the first battle of Bull Run.
My very dear Sarah:

The indications are very strong that we will move in a few days - perhaps tomorrow. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write a few lines that may fall under your eye when I shall be no more.

Our movement may be one of a few days duration and full of pleasure - or it may be one of sever conflict and death to me. Not my will, but thine, O God, be done. If it is necessary that I should fall on the battlefield for my country, I am ready. I have no misgivings about, or lack of confidence in, the cause in which I am engaged, and my courage does not halt or falter. I know how strongly American Civilization now leans upon the triumph of the government, and how great a debt we owe to those who went before us through the blood and suffering of the Revolution. And I am willing - perfectly willing - to lay down all my joys in this life to help maintain this government, and to pay that debt.

But, my dear wife, when I know that with my own joys I lay down nearly all of yours, and replace them in this life with cares and sorrows - when, after having eaten for long years the bitter fruit of orphanage myself, I must offer it as their only sustenance to my dear little children - is it weak or dishonorable, while the banner of my purpose floats calmly and proudly in the breeze, that my unbounded love for you, my darling wife and children, should struggle in fierce, though useless, contest with my love of country?

I cannot describe to you my feelings on this calm summer night, when two thousand men are sleeping around me, many of them enjoying the last, perhaps, before that of death - and I, suspicious that Death is creeping behind me with his fatal dart, am communing with God, my country, and thee.

I have sought most closely and diligently, and often in my breast, for a wrong motive in thus hazarding the happiness of those I loved, and I could not find one. A pure love of my country and the principles I have often advocated before the people and "the name of honor that I love more than I fear death" have called upon me, and I have obeyed.

Sarah, my love for you is deathless, it seems to bind me to you with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence could break; and yet my love of Country comes over me like a strong wind and bears me irresistibly on, with all these chains, to the battlefield.

The memories of the blissful moments I have spent with you come creeping over me, and I feel most gratified to God and to you that I have enjoyed them so long. And hard for me it is to give them up and burn to ashes the hopes of future years when, God willing, we might still have lived and loved together, and seen our sons grow up to honorable manhood around us. I have, I know, but few and small claims upon Divine Providence, but something whispers to me - perhaps it is the wafted prayer of my little Edgar - that I shall return to my loved ones unharmed. If I do not, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I love you, and when my last breath escapes me on the battlefield, it will whisper your name.

Forgive my many faults, and the many pains I have caused you. How thoughtless and foolish I have often times been! How gladly would I wash out with my tears every little spot upon your happiness, and struggle with all the misfortune of this world, to shield you and my children from harm. But I cannot. I must watch you from the spirit land and hover near you, while you buffet the storms with your precious little freight, and wait with sad patience till we meet to part no more.

But, O Sarah! If the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you; in the garish day and in the darkest night - amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours - always, always; and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air fans your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit passing by.

Sarah, do not mourn me dead; think I am gone and wait for thee, for we shall meet again.

As for my little boys, they will grow as I have done, and never know a father's love and care. Little Willie is too young to remember me long, and my blue-eyed Edgar will keep my frolics with him among the dimmest memories of his childhood. Sarah, I have unlimited confidence in your maternal care and your development of their characters. Tell our mothers I call God's blessing upon them.

O Sarah, I wait for you there! Come to me, and lead thither my children.

- Sullivan

My Darling we are so blessed to live and love and to see our children grow into honorable young man and woman.
My love for you is deathless...
Your love gifts me with the happiest of anniversary's
May my love flood you the same/

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
