The Simple Woman's Daybook...

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...
The sun is shining and the children are eating apples and playing on the lawn. It is in the low 70*'s. Rock , Paper , Scissors shoot! and the dog is barking in the play....
I am thinking...
Wow I made mayonnaise today! That was so cool. It looked like it was going to curdle. I ran out to the hen house and grabbed two eggs out from under my broody hen. They were nice to room temperature and I decided to put the white in also and YE PEE it set! Woo Hoo! I do not have to go to the store!!!!!!!!
I am thankful for...
Happy jousting children who are healthy and having a grand time of it in the warm sunshine.
From the learning rooms...
(if this applies) Many gardening sessions for myself. Dash is self motivated and doing extra work for benefits at his class room at school. I have my Bible lesson to finish for tomorrow.
From the kitchen...
Beef roast has been in the crock pot all day, four loaves bread baked, 6 mixes prepped for the next batch of loaves. Mayo is jared and in the refer, egg shells are ground and given to the chickens for calcium. one and a half gallons of lemon aide was prepared from the juice and a simple sugar syrup made today. After grinding the winter wheat and bagging up the 25 pounds of bread flour the 6 bagged mixes for the future bread batches were set into the whole wheat berry drum for room temp keeping and two of the mixes deep froozen to be set out in the future when I make bread. Jasmine loose leaf tea was steeped and enjoyed as well. The breakfast cookies I made and baked over the weekend were put up into serving size baggies and froozen.
Dishes ................oh ya! The dishwasher will need to be emptied from this morning and reloaded as well as the hand dishes. It does not look like it snowed there any more (all the flour is cleaned up).
I am wearing...
Blue jeans. white ankle sox, cloud walker black leather shoes and a royal blue turtle neck. My hair is tied into bands and pulled up and back.
I am creating...
a blog post...haha, a birthday gift for a friend.
I am going...
to enjoy a rest.
I am reading...
Some beading books, gardening information on soil preperations.
I am hoping...
That if my Husband gets the new part time extra job that his health maintains and that we can do this thing with grace and little effect on the childrens stability. I hope that it is not an issue to being his day at 10:30 at his regular job and then have the mornings open to do the part time job. It would be wonderful to be able to keep up the savings to recover our losses in our retirement and emergency fund. We are so blessed, but to whom much is given much is required.
I am hearing...
fiction flowing from the very imaginitve daughter who is directing the play outside with her brother.
Around the house...
It smells of fresh baked bread! although the counters are clean the dirty dishes are high, baking pans and cookie sheets and lots of things like blender jar and food processor parts.
One of my favorite things...
The safety of the children hearing them home. Although it is my heart to home school out of obedience I have them in school. It is always such a good feeling to have them home, safe and sound.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Bible study in the morning, a girls night out to celebrate an old friend and the EEG study on my brain on Wednesday morning. Time at home on Thursday and Friday is a delight for I desire to garden.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...When Dash was asked to tell me about this he said...
"this is a hotel for homeless people, mom...they can sleep here and get some food for free"
Come join us over at the "Simple Woman"

First...the hotel for homeless is incredible. Second...Donetta..it sounds like you are feeling a bit better! I am so glad!

It feels good to me to hear you sound so energized! Even if you pushed through part of the days events...I know the kids had a good time! ALL THAT BREAD! WOW!!!

When our girls were small...and I was WAY SMALLER...I used to bake bread. Regular white, wheat, and cinnamon with raisins.!!! Oh the glorious smell of the house on bread baking day! (It was a weekly event)

Have a blessed evening and good week this week!

I enjoyed your day book.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
