Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing heavy or too thought-provoking.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your linkat her site. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Her question is:

What was your favorite toy as a child?

O.K. this is going to sound very strange to some but…Well here it is. When I was a child we were VERY poor. I was the last of eight children. I loved nature and still do. So my very favorite toy… was bug races. Cute little garden beetles lined up, or as my Beloved husband recently told the children …You make a large circle and then a small circle in the center. Then you place the little critters in the center of the smaller center circle and see who’s critter gets out of the large circle first. You asked! :) I love gardening to…I guess that figures. :) I do not remember many toys that were manufactured.

My Question is:

What is your favorite type of weather and why?

I Love a cloudy rainy day, it is so easy on the eyes and temperate to the skin. I just feel cozy.

How about you?

I love warm days when it's not too hot or too cold and the sun peeks out from behind nice, big, white puffy clouds. The kind of day where you want to spend every minute outside.

Can you tell that I'm getting very, very tired of winter? :)

Just warm sunny days around 70 is my best kind of weather. Maybe a little breeze so that I can sit out on the front porch and just bask in the sun. Those are some of the kinds of days that we have here in the South East. Smile.

Well...I think it depends. I love a beautiful sunny day, not too hot, with a nice cool breeze, but right now I want some snow!! :)
I don't like the summer! Way to hot.

Thanks for posting. :)

My favorite type of weather? I love to be outside, so any weather that allows me to be outside. I love snow to go snowboarding and sledding and build snowmen with. I love warm sunny days to go hiking and bike riding and play baseball in. I love rain to make mud pies and slosh around in.

I really love rain the most I think . . . because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of rain and soft sound :-)

I love a cool Fall day. Just cool enough to be comfortable in jeans and a sweater. A little overcast. Perhaps a fire in the fireplace, a cup of cocoa, and a good book!

In Florida I loved the thunderstorms. They were so incredibly awesome. Here in California I love warm sunny days with a cool breeze. I have to have the cool breeze.

I love rainy days as long as I don't have to go anywhere. ;-)

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
