Shocking... potato and garden conclusions

Well potato nails ...have I told you about these...
They make your potato cook in half time and be much more tender.
Just wrap in foil and bake for an hour.
Dinner was a potato with the fixings.
Soy sour cream thank God for this invention.
Dove enjoyed her mac and cheese. She detests potato (an orphanage thing) that is what the babies had to drink for there was no milk and it kept them filled.

Shocking!
He has been cleaning the garage and doing many maintenance tasks.
Now that his thyroid is getting better he is back to his old self more.

Shocking!
Steve priced having the shocks on the truck done...
$475!
so he went and purchased them
for $150. with a 33. rebate.
Put them on himself!
Oh now he sees what I have been bouncing through!
It rides like a dream now, It is wonderful!

So many things this week we have completed.
This is the last of the garden beds...I finished it yesterday.
This goal began in May/June is coming to its fruition.

We will use the re bar trellis to grow vine over the sides of the shed.
The holes in the blocks will have herbs and flowers.
To the right the lettuce beds and to the left...undetermined as of yet.
There will be a two foot farther extension and the white grape trellis set over the shed entry.
In time the shed will be obliterated by greenery.

Steve helped me throw the last of the pick ax...this end had never been dug up.
It was clay hard pan...It is now ready for the onion.
I'll plant it in the morning.

This is a spaghetti squash it is doubling in size every day.
I am growing on the vertical so it is in a little hammock of sorts.

The cucumber is thriving this time
with cooler weather now

I had to treat for powdery mildew
It is the biggest issue with the hot days and cool nights of the desert.

As I pulled everything left out of the garden the perennial rye was tossed.
Then the last of the horse manure was cleared out from under the window and the
garden is finished!
I parked a plant hanger in front of the beading window, raked all the scrap up.
The rest of the horse manure is covering a 1/4 of lawn outside the garden gate.
I'll toss the rye in the morrow.

We finished up and took the family out for a day of fun.
To the mall and we each chose our desire from the food court.
We both came together on this.
While I was finishing up a call came in to cancel a long awaited play date
Dove was devastated and as I prayed for her I saw us taking them to the movie...
Steve walks to me and we look at each other and he began and I finished with what I saw.
We had the same vision of the day and so we set out after I showered.
We all had so much fun!

After the mall we went to the picture show at a $2 theater.
Get this Dove says..."mom this is nice, it is so much less building around me. I want to come back here."
Oh is it just so sweet that her sensory was at bay while we were there.
We saw "UP" the movie.
We all laughed it was clean and funny.
A sweet love story full of good humor.

We went back into the mall after the kids finished the left over sandwich from their lunch out side at a table.
It was a beautiful day not too hot outside.

We then drove to a shoe store to see if I could find a pair of these

LOVE THEM!

These are Merrell shoes.
They keep my knee in alignment for the arches are awesome.
They were almost half price.
I found a pair of walking shoes for 50% off the already marked down on clearance.
They are what I can use instead of walking or tennis shoes.
They are totally stable and very good to keep your joints free of stress.
They are cute too
:)

Well we even got me my first new leather purse
Matched the shoes and will serve well for the trip.
It was a real awesome buy.
I feel like a princess new shoes and a new purse.

I made sure the kids each had shoes before I got mine.
It really feels good to get a new pair.

So the kids are camping out their last night of vacation.
I have to keep a busy day Monday and Tuesday with appointments so tomorrow is the last day to pack and finish up my tasks...

so few to do for the laundry is done
kitchen mopped (thank you babe)
dishes done
garden labor done
Goal met as my heart had desired before my trip it be so.
kids set
a little shopping to do for the crew while I am gone.

Florida four days out...

Your garden is awesome:-)

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
