Meet the Teacher Day

Back to School
We went to the kids school to meet the teachers and get ready for the new school year. The kids loved the new classes. Dash is stressed over the hearing aids and being made fun of. He is real concerned. The FM microphone and amplifiers are not there for him. I hope to find they arrive for him Monday. She has him sitting in the back row of the class. So he will have a new spot to find on Monday. She has a very large class. We stopped by to see his last years teacher and she was sweet and told me they said that the FM system would be there for him on the first day of school. It is his and it will follow him throughout the years.
Dove has a beautiful class room. Her teacher has 11 years teaching and 1 yr as librarian but our district has let all of the librarians go. They will now have techs doing the work. She is 33 and a really nice woman. I really really liked her! She is new to this school and looks to be very happy about it.
Her room is full of sunflowers and photos. She is a world traveler and a photographer. Her and I will get along well I think. Dove was very comfortable with her. She spent her summer in Africa serving children of the impoverished. I like her already. She was thrilled to hear of the kids being internationally adopted and spoke of how if she ever got married she would adopt because there are so many who need families! Ya! I like this woman. She was startled to think of the kids being adopted because they look just like me. I love it!

The kids learned the bus number and are ready almost...

I have a few more things to get for Dove.
You know all my years I longed to home school...When God said no, Well it was tough! I am so blessed to have the peace that I am doing what the children need from me. I am so grateful that I have no guilt or condemnation feelings. This year it felt more natural and less difficult to obey the will of God through putting them in school. I will still teach them daily as is my way. So strange to think of having time alone and spending it in other ways than teaching the kids. I may get part time employment with the elderly this fall. I will raise the chickens and keep the garden preparations going. I want to harvest rain water also. With the sewing school clothing , class room service and possibly the PTA I will still be VERY actively involved in their education. The school has a new Young principle this year. I trust it will go well. I may need to fight for an IEP for dove if she is unable to thrive. We hope to keep her main stream for her esteem sake. She is already two years behind her peer group of age. She is a sweet thoughtful kid.
I went around the house to use what we had here. Dove was so sweet. I found a used eraser and dove said "this is alright Mom, I am fine with it." I found some highlighters and ink pens for her here. You do not HAVE to buy everything NEW folks. That is just the trick of the corporate giants.

Again, as a recently retired elementary teacher, I applaud you for being so involved in the education of your children. Parents and teachers working together make a huge difference in a child's success. Also, on a previous post, someone asked about the "pink thing" in the picture. It look like a P*ed "e*gg". If it is, I am very curious to know if it actually works as advertised and if you like it. Would you please respond to this inquiry as I am considering purchasing one? V from northern Idaho

Happy School Year Dove and Dash

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
