Hamburger buns and daily bread

Now how is that for some happy yeast!
That upper bowl was the burger buns.

The loaf of bread was my daily bread with a brush of egg on top.
The egg kept that crust so soft.
Yummy!
Kids each ate two burgers!

Camping on the Rim Arizona part one

We pulled up into the high country mid day Thursday.
There had been a lightning strike fire being managed so we were unable to camp to the right of the rim road 300.
All spots had been closed access except the left side only.
So we drove way up onto the rim.
Look at that view.
Some years back a bad fire opened up this view.
This above Payson in Arizona
Well we finally had to turn around and found a spot not so much to our liking.
Then a fellow from this camp came walking into our camp.
He showed us a spot in far from the dusty road.
Well I walked it while Daddy Man with the kids drove the rig down the road to the head of the access road.
The fellow approached us said "hi! My name is Earl"
Such a sweet guy.
As I walked the road alone I heard that the spirit said that earl had a gift for us.
Smiling I said "oh Ya...what's that Lord"
"kindness" was the reply.

So this is the awesome sight he showed us.

Long meadows on each side of us.
We were way off the main road and only hikers and folks on ATV used the road near us.
Even that was some distance from our camp.

We set up and walked up to Earls camp and gave him and his wife a tomato.
I left it on a table for them for the RV had a big screen TV in it YES>>>it was like a house!
Amrita you must just be stunned!
We were.
There was a wood pecker not to afraid of us on the tree.
Click on the image to enlarge.

He was so tame.
I stood and watched him till the kids were to board with such things

By night fall we were all set up with the cabin ready.

It was cool that first night due to gusts

Having that Chevy was a dream of ease.
So nice to just secure the things under the cover.

Next morning the kids hungry and cold had a huge breakfast.
I fried 2 pounds of bacon and never burned a one.
The kids noticed.
Well that is due to no distractions.
Eggs from home, cracked and jarred.

a little onion powder in the eggs and they taste like heaven on a cold day.
We had BLT bacon, tomato and turkey for lunch. No lettuce was left in the garden.

While I washed up
Daddy man gave free frequent flier flights to the kids.
They are getting bigger.

too fun!

Me too me too cried Dove...
Can you here the Daddy Mans back say yikes!

Oh my this dude really loves his kids!

weeee

zoom zoom she is straight as a board!

now the bombardier gets a second turn before bad old mom said
Daddy Man that's enough on your shoulder...:)

so much fun for them
They all then went for a daddy time hike.
No mom allowed.
Daddy time

So I set up in the warm sun and set to enjoying the bright light.
Beading was so nice in this light.

now just look at that sky

I have a friend who had her birthday last weekend so I was thinking of her and worked on finishing her gift.

It is a beaded brooch pad or pin cushion
The family returned hungry.
That was the call of the four days there for me.
Mom I'm Hungry!

they had so much fun in a fort they made and in climbing the tree just outside the window of the cabin. (trailer) :)

Well they played all day.
We closed the evening out with a game of Armor of God.
It was pretty dark with only a small light.

My sweet heart and I shared a hot cup of homemade loose lief tea then settled in for some much deserved rest.

Saturday and Sunday are another post.

Tackle it Tuesday Making Mayo

Good Morning!
One of the things needed for the week is a new jar of mayo.

I have altered this recipe several times.

Now make sure the egg is room temp!
This is a real important thing.
The oil being room temp is important too.
I use olive or non GA genetically altered canola oils.
This is a jar of real quality mayo were making.
Not the store bought stuff.

New lesson today the apple cider vinegar is not so good here.
I did not like the taste.
Putting the egg and the herbs, salt and a little of the oil and vinegar is a real trick here.
It really gives enough to mix well.
Otherwise it just sits under the mixer blades.
The real key here is prayer and holding your tongue just right :)

I use a little onion powder in ours.
It can be altered as you wish.
A little sugar was added to balance it out.
The apple cider caused this.

This is the reference book used.

Many other tasks to do

Camping dishes done this morning need to clear the counter
Dove is now emptying the dishwasher each morning.

This is yet to be finished.
I want to at least add the DE to it.
My hands and back are rather tired to move it today.
Fed the chickens to gather the eggs for the mayo.
The coop needs to be raked and composted.
This little beauty needs to be identified
He has Planted himself out front near the walk.
I must see whether he is a tree or not.

As per a request
I will also be posting some of my jewelery for sale on the Place to Create Blog this afternoon.
For any one who is interested.

So I am off.

Beautiful Early summer day here.

With the garden calling
The day pulled me out doors.
That is once the bread rising
Dove was given the quest of putting the bread int he oven to bake.

This is the maverick butternut squash growing very fast.

The tomato bails were torn down and I carried them over to set the new beds on the garden extension into being.
Cleaned up all the dung and was set to get going on it when company came for a few hours.
Had a impromptu play date and a visit with the mom.
It was so nice.
She and I did some things like hang the big quilts out together.
The laundry from the camp trip is large items.
We spoke of things of the spirit
Then the bread was sliced when they left and the kids and I had meat sandwiches.

Off to the yard again
Go see the work over at BEE BLISS GARDENS (my other blog)
My husband came home to see me finishing up.

He set to task on the camper sink. He found one to fit for 2/3 the cost or less. It is even metal where the Coleman one was plastic.
It fits great, it is even a bit higher than the old one. That will make an ease of dishes

It was so nice outside today!
We had a visit while the rice cooked.
A wonderful supper of salmon.

Now I am off to comb Doves long neglected hair.
Her special needs makes it very difficult to allow her hair to be cared for.
It is really a problem.
So last night I prayed and God showed me to give her some Tylenol.
Sit her in front of Leave it to Beaver!

So I am off...

The Simple Woman's Daybook

June 1st Edition of The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today...

Outside my window... The day is nice, morning warm and not to hot to finish up some garden and yard care tasks.

I am thinking... How wonderful it is to listen to others. How sweet it is to see the harvest of my toil in the garden. It is so fun to go out and shop in the garden for the weekly menu.

From the learning rooms...Raised bed gardening lessons and lessons of the Spirit.

I am thankful for...Those divine provisions, many of which I did not even know I needed:)

From the kitchen... Fresh loaf of bread for lunch, suppers planned. Grocery shopping accomplished in the garden.

I am wearing... Turquoise stretch caprices, and a turquoise beaded sleeveless knit top.
A head band and a hair band pulling it into a pony tail. No real jewelery for I have been hard at work on the camping linens and the yard most of the day.

I am reading... Watchman Nee, The Spiritual Man.

I am hoping... To grow some awesome melons for summer, save my green beans from the moths, Start the water tank hook up to be ready for the monsoons. Finish a beaded gift for a friend. Start sewing some new clothing for myself.

I am creating... A home, a refuge from the storm. A place of peace and beauty. Raised garden beds. Water harvesting systems. New clothing for self and kids.

I am praying... All my needs and the needs of my family and friends. Have not if I ask not.
Those faces and names that come before me throughout each day.

Around the house... Children lovin life during summer at home with mom. Amimals livin in a life of needs met.

One of my favorite things...home grown crops. Happy children.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Tending chores in the house and garden, Repair of the camper to be ready for the next trip.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
My kind of canned beans
:)

Menu Plan Monday daily bread

On a wonderful blog...
That I can not remember who it was, I found this daily bread recipe.
If I got this from you, thank you.
The kids do not enjoy the whole wheat so I am doing this for them.
It is a sweeter bread and they loved it.

I held back a tablespoon of the sugar and will do so each time until they complain or notice it. Then I will add that last one back and use it for the altered recipe.
Olive oil is used and was rapid rise yeast.
Sea salt is also a preference.

Yeast is the most threatening part of bread baking.
The one cup water was placed in the microwave for 1 minute then cooled until my finger was comfortable in it.
It felt hot then eventually nice.

One of my bread backing habits is to put a tablespoon of olive oil on the counter.
This I use for my hands and also the kneading is made much easier.
The left over is used to oil the bread pan.

I love this bowl Thank You Jaye for the gift of it.
It has been a real nice addition to the kitchen.

Well bread was rising by 7 a.m.
By 8:30 it was punched down and in the loaf pan at second rise.
It is the bread for today's lunch.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
