Our Wonderful news!

Beloved called me today.

He got a PROMOTION at work a whole new salary level with the potential of future increases too, and a significant raise!
This is the first time He has received a raise in over 5 years.
When The plant closed down He was in a very high level position. Our income diminished to 1/3 of what we had been living on. He was upper man and the job he began where he is at was at the bottom of the pole (so to speak). All because he was a self taught ...... Well no degree. He began again as if fresh off the street (humbled to a knee). He has now been acknowledge after all this time!
It is a significant change to our income! God is so GOOD!
I fell down before God and Just poured out my heart the day before yesterday that God would give my Husband HOPE>
Now we can make a way out of the stressful penny by penny and see to the dreams of a real back east family vacation this summer (the first in over 6-10 years) he has so longed to take the children on a history trip to our nations capital. We now may be able if we keep to task(save save save) to even be able to save enough to do so, and to be able to get my new tooth. Doves braces too.
We have a hope that we will now be able to conserve and save up enough to meet our future financial needs.

Wordless Wedensday

Carded by a friend

I have thought about this today....
5 gifts I would like to receive in 2008....
To me a gift comes from another's heart to mine freely. It is not something that I can ask for or by definition it is then no longer a gift in the purest since of the word.

Of all the many Gifts I am given It is my desire to truly be able to "receive" them

1.Peace as in the absence of strive and striving after the wind. It is a gift that would preserve me even in the midst of every battle. If I could receive and hold on to this every moment and never forget it is mine I would really succeed. Trusting for HIS best interest is over me.
2. I want to be able to deeply receive the truth about how God sees me, Beautiful treasured and captivating. Whole, perfected through his unmerited favor.
3. I desire to be the best parent for my children in my own eyes. He placed my chosen children into my life and I desire to embrace this when I err to never falter in the truth of this. I become so depressed when I falter...as an adoptive Mother the wound remains that I must live up to a higher standard for I have been given such a great privilege.
4. I desire to be captivating to my husband in such a way that I take his breath away! My body needs to be better cared for for many reasons this is only one of them. I desire to walk in my own power and shine so brightly that he looks at me that way when I giggle and know that he is pleased with who he sees. Not only sexually but in every way.
5. I wish for the treasure of hand fashioned creations from other crafts women and men. I love the glorious handy work of crochet wash cloths of absorbent cottons, the needle work, or creative arts of any thing with the heart poured into it. That is an expression of pure love and sacrifice those gifts from the heart that were stitched just for me... That each time I touch it I heal in the knowledge that someone was thinking of me and that "I am" ...that I belong here on this planet...rooted and established in the hearts of others who are too, rooted in love. Maybe that sounds strange but each thing I have been given has had this amazing healing effect and that feeling of my life time is begining to fade (I was always such a black hole). I always felt like I was an alien here on this earth, and that I did not belong. I have this apron I got in a swap and she made this dish cloth and when I use it something wonderful happens it is like I am loved. Weird maybe but so has been my journey. When I create I put a little part of myself in it. I find that "piece of another" in those things. That is an awkward one to share.

2. "Nazarene Family Services"
3. Michell at "Life in the midst of Writing"
4. Bob at "Bobs Blog"
5. Kalani "Island Review"
Here are the rules:1. Each player starts with 5 gifts that they would want for the New Year.2. People who are “CARDED” need to write their own Blog about their 5 things & post these rules.3. At the end of your Blog, you need to choose 5 people to get “CARDED” and list their names.4. Don’t forget to leave them a COMMENT telling them they’re “CARDED”, and to read your Blog.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

TASK TO DO

pay bills
Knee exercise

This morning as I prepare for a new day of tasks. I paused....
Yes I have these to wrap to stow away

This table to clear and things to organize...

I managed to take my dining room and living room back.

A life was more important than this today.
And with the space heater is warming the garage even as I type this....
I stop and spend a few moments time Remembering Him (Ecc. 12:6)

This looks great now!
As I tend to all my labors I reflect on (Ecc. 2:10).
Realizing that the reward for all of this can be rather vain, empty and seemingly futile.
It is the reward in itself. To think that this is all there is to my day would be a mistake.

Maybe later tonight?
I have the Hoodies to make for the kids but,...in the joy and duty of task of all I have to do I want to stop and remember...Before I am an old woman spent of task and busy of daily responsibilities...I want to stop and Remember Him....

I want to be one who finds delightful words. My desire is to write words of truth correctly. Encouraging goads to spur onto movement my fellows.
I am going to spend some time composing a post that I see (have a vision of) for the other blog.
We have a Party to attend as a family on Saturday and I want to nurture my body. Manicure/pedicure and legs and such. The warmth sounds good. Cold Morning here (Ha)! I think it is 50*?
I found myself an hour to do a spa time for myself. I was just relaxing and praying for (talking to God about)folks I care about. I did a facial mask, lip mask ad shaved the forest off my legs, "timber"...:)
I heard the phone ring in the other room twice and got concerned...
It was my nephew who needed an ear and a restful place to come.
It was so amazing to be in the role of an Aunt to this awesome young man. He arrived with his heart in his hands. I shared some knowledge, experience strength and hope. He had some lunch while I drove to bring the children home. Only to find he was doing the dishes for me. That sweet young man.
Then he met my play date family at the door for they made it to the house a couple of minutes before me. He was very comfortable to rest there with us until it was time for me to go to my 4 pm appointment. Beloved met me at the school.
Thank you Debbie for covering us so we could attend to Doves teacher/parent conference.
I'll have to tell you about that later.

Debbie and I had both put out a roast to cook for supper and we had made her late. My 10-15 minute appointment was 45 minutes long.
After the play date we had both the thought of "Dinner"??? too late to make a roast (as we each had independently planned). So I taught her how to slice it and make broiled steaks which I also made. After supper we played with the kids. It is now bath time.

The conclusion when all has been heard is : fear God and keep his Commandments, because this applies to every person. Ecc. 12:13

Another day.
And if...when all is said and done I may just tackle this tile.
I have a play date here at 2:15 pm
Tomorrow I have the whole house of floors to do. I did not want to do floors to have them a mess by the end of the play date.

Teacher conference at 4 pm

Supper to Make
TO BED AT A GOOD TIME
I must stop staying up to late!

Jedi Coat for Dash Hawk ; Obi-Wan Kenobi

This is what I am up to today.
You think he looks just the slightest bit happy about it?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. He is one of the most prominent characters in the Star Wars saga

I just finished it.
I have a few small details yet.
It is fully lined and has a bit of weight to it. It is actually made of coat wool and is very warm.
I need to work on a rustic closure for it perhaps a toggle and eye.
The force is with you. Of course they know the true force.

I have one happy little boy.
I am on tired little Mommy!
I already have an order for another one from Dove.
Beloved thinks I should sell them on E-bay.
This is high quality for a cloak.
My boy will be warm tomorrow!

The Men just finished group and one asked me if I might take orders. He wants a Monks Robe.

My busy day...

My day began at 4:45 today.
A bad dream awoke me to prayer.
In the shower I had a talk with God and began to open up to Him.

After my shower I hung out quietly in my master Bedroom Closet to hang up the laundry I had washed up at the end of last week.

After my dogs got fed and hushed I sat down to read
Keeping interested in my own career is vital.
Part of my role as mother is to understand their ever changing developmental stages.

Menu Plan Monday is a great meme I like to participate in.
I set up "Vanilla Spin" (Dove named the mixer) to make slaw.
Cabbage and carrots, later chopped up tri-colored bell pepper was added.
The children LOVE slaw.

1/3 C Mayo
2 tbs. vinegar
2 tbs. sugar
1 tea.celery seed
1 tea sea salts

I needed to double this batch for I made a good amount of slaw.

I made some cookie dough by using this egg replacement so I did not have to go to the grocery.
When the kids were gathered after their half day of school, I surprised them with cookies waiting to be baked.
they were so excited to get home.

After stopping at the cur for the mail the kids had home to jump in every puddle and plash all they could. After I shut the garage door I made them remove the wet things in the garage and put them right into the washer. Then they were off to do again the wet things a rainy day calls for. Like getting caught making mud prints on the wall. Luckily for them I had been reading and handled it much better than normal. I reminded them of what is right and they went to correct things without me even saying another word.

They trudged of to de-mud the shoes, and hands of earthen glee.

The prints on the walk and the porch will be visible on the next dry morning to be sure. If anything ever happened to either of them these foot prints would be invaluable to me. So should they be now. :)

She was not sure if she was in trouble too. She was not, but she looked like she was thinking about it.

Dove helped her brother to wash up :) then she washed up the dogs water bowl and refilled it with clean water. She even washed her brothers shoes.

Once dry they came in to get warm and have snacks.

Delight in the Lord and He shall give the the desires of your heart.
My desire was met in that I poured out my heart and gained understanding and knowledge how to respond better to the kids. The knowledge of just one mornings read really helped to refocus. 6 an 10 are just infants in the real line of time!

I better get back to the coat.

Well this was an unexpected kindness...When I came home from church today I found that Connie had left me a little embrace. Being the benefactor of such an uplifting I stand reminded of all that I am because of all that He is and has done for me. Alive to the potential of all that had ever been intended for all of us to know. There are so many of us who forget all that we were destined to be before we were even formed. If your like me perhaps you try to hit the mark and fall shot. I think that my efforts need to be relinquished over to HIM in me. I can not of my own do all that I am destined too or be all of whom He desires me to be. It is doable thought for I am becoming new. I am alive to right standing, and I am in right standing simply through belief.

Connie thank you for the "hug". I am glad that I make a difference in your day. I (like so many others ) need to know that. This award is a inspiring way to pass that reminder on.

So many come to mind here. I want to try to pass the love arround a little .I loved Connie's list of folks and so many of them have it now, so...

Good Morning!
Here hoping everyone had a good weekend!
This weekend I was able to finish my home inventory.
It is a great time of organizing the things I have.
We have the opportunity to use up our stored goods a bit.
This is a good thing to do. The inventory helped me to have everything on one list so as to have a better idea of what to keep an eye out for on clearance. This really pays off in the long run. Year after year I have watched this process keep me a full time homemaker.
This month we will be avoiding the grocery store except for eggs and produce. I wish I had a friend who gardened :)
I am pulling in some creative ways to balance the diet more efficiently.
With Dash's CRS we need to not do any overtime.
We also want to be able to do a trip this summer...so , we are living intentionally so as to be frugal. It is sorta fun in a way but immaturity creeps up here and there like a whiny little child.
Even children need to count their blessings :)
This child is...:)

Three Things My Daughter Must Know About Her Marital Needs

1st Monday Every Month at Chrysalis
"Three Things My Daughter Must Know About Her Marital Needs."

#1
First and foremost would be that a lasting marriage is a triune affair. I want her to always remember that I prayed for a man who loves God, not a religious (mans rules) man.
That with a triune marriage it is a covenant (an unbroken agreement where each lays down his own life for the other) between three parties. God, Wife and Husband. We have a built in advocate. We have a promise to God as well as our self and our mate. That this should be clearly understood by all parties.

#2
Life is a shared adventure...
A man need a beauty to rescue, this is a cause to fight for . It is in a mans heart to be able to fight for his beauty. If she be to independent and remove herself from inter-dependence he has lost his cause and will look for another cause to fight for.
It is err if she "becomes" his adventure to live for . A woman needs a shared adventure .She does not want to BE the adventure but to share a common adventure. A man needs to know that he has what it takes. This is something that that only God can answer for a man. However a wife can be an example of Gods grace and mercy in this through believing in her man and by encouraging him daily.
A woman needs to be "the beauty" at the table. The thing that captivates her husband. A Man who admires and encourages a woman to walk in her power is a man who admires true beauty in his woman. He empowers her to be who she is created to be. He is not intimidated by her power.
#3
"Life is a Battle"
Life is a battle an ongoing war between all that is Holy Righteous and good, and all that is perverse evil and wicked. Life and death. We have to choose life moment by moment in every word that we craft from our lips. We must craft life.
It is not what goes into a person that defiles them but every word that comes out of the (heart) mouth.
The power of the "Word" is paramount. We must guard our tung for it will bring life or death. It is not easy to ever take back a word spoken and the enemy of our life will replay those words and twist them into a bitterness of heart that will often harden the hearts of each other toward the other. We must hold our tung in anger. Never go to sleep on anger. Peace above all to guard hearts from hardening. Hardness comes by one wound left un-healed at a time. Then year after year the hearts become a more ridged stone that is brittle and breaks at tragedy or cold to love. We must season our words with kindness and like Ester of old we must use perfect timing too. When our hearts are FOR each other and FOR Gods will over our own this is accomplished.
I have been able for many years to be a party to healing the wounds of my husbands heart in this. When I consider his heart before my own and see the restoration of his wound he then loves with a gratitude that is un-dieing and everlasting. And visa versa.
Knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood (each other) but against principalities and rulers in heavenly places. Modern Christianity (using the term loosely) teaches salvation, tithe and all will be roses and such. If you have a problem it is because your not DOING it right (this is a lie) or a half truth.
The Gospel teaches that it is Grace plus nothing and that we are in a battle. That we have an adversary. In recent history we have been lulled by our enemy to think that he is not really there. He is!, and marriage must fight as a unified front to this assault of the family. For it is in breaking down the unity of the family unit that so much of the success of the dark side has prevailed. Often when a couple hit hard times the accusations will fly because someone must be doing IT wrong. Divide and concur. When a problem hits instead look to the root cause, is a wound making one of us act strange address the wound with loving kindness do not attack the other for behaving badly. The behaviors are a symptom of a deeper need. Address the root and heal the problem.
Immaturity is one of the greatest challenges. Grow up together. Learn together.
Choose wisely. By gaining understanding before you mate for life. Gain knowledge as you go and live WISELY.

Kitchen Maintenance.

Our Garbage disposal is 7 yrs old and works well.
It clogs sometimes, but it is a real convenience to use.
We are not in a situation where we can compose.

This stuff works well to clear the drains, it comes up through the other side clearing out the pipes. When we moved in Hubby and a friend put in this executive chef sink. I love it! If you ever get a chance to upgrade your kitchen this would be a priority in my experience. It is very deep on on side. I need to clean it.

We have very hard (lots of minerals) water in our location.
Many people have water softeners, however we do not prefer this salt in our water nor the costs of keeping up the unit.
I used to order a product called "glisten" from the Kitchen Aide company.

I found these at the grocery a few months ago on clearance. So I purchased a few. Once a every couple of months or so I run it in the machine.
It really makes a big difference.

Beloved recently replaced the "washer" that was worn in the armature that spins. We did it ourselves at cost of a part. No service call. There are so many things you really can do for your self .
We priced the racks to replace them. When we purchase the unit I researched it and got the stainless steel unit. It is very quiet. We have however almost worn out the racks. So eventually we will replace them.

A new unit is not that much more in a way but the quiet unit makes it worth replacing the racks eventually.
Kitchen Maintenance is important to keep all your "maids" a functioning well.
Sorta like an insurance and a investment in the health of your appliances.

PS GUYS I'm not making any money on this just things I like.

Would you like to try the New Mop?

Beloved made a point to go look for the new mop we needed today. We had to replace the old one. It was 10 yrs old and I can not get the replacement heads for it any more. When we got home I gave it a try It is really nice!(steel with roller ringer and scrub brush, we got it at a restaurant supply store)...When I asked Beloved if he would like to give it a try?...His reply..."No thanks Tom...with a coy smile..."
(
TOM SAWYER WHITEWASHED THE FENCE IN MARK TWAIN)...Made me laugh so hard. He is so quick!

Make it from Scratch Carnaval *croutons*

Our family eats whole grain breads. These breads are pricey.
No matter if you use them or cheep white bread waste not want not.
Save your heals. No one here wants to use them so I bag them as we go through loaf after loaf.
They add up fast.

Cut your heals on the horizontal then dice at the vertical.
Melt butter set aside.
Heat your oven 300* convection, 350* regular ovens.

With the motor and pestle I ground Italian seasoning with garlic salt. The salt is a wonderful natural abrasive. Use a sieve to separate the stems from your spices. It you do not have a pestle use a heavy spoon against a mixing bowl.

Add the dry mixture and toss first.
Then stir in the butter drizzling it evenly over the mixture.
Lay out single layer on a dark cookie sheet preferably.
The dark oven ware gives a crispier bake.

Bake and toss Oh every 10 minutes until crisp or soft crisp.
Move the outer to the center as you toss them. The outer will bake faster.
Do not leave these un-attended for long the cook fast!
Cool them and bag them.
I keep mine in the freezer. They also make a good snack for the kids.

Home made croûtons are simple.

Oh! The rave comments from my husband, when he entered the house.
You would of thought he had a feast for the senses.

Photo Hunt *Delicious*

There is a restaurant locally that sells a spaghetti that my children love. I deciphered the ingredients . I made a delicious copy cat sauce.
The kids do not like chunks Nor do I do
Blending the sauce
add two tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove.

The family loves it. It is great to help time savings as well. I used to do my own sauce and can it but life is a bit too full right now so this is second best. Spoon over pasta. I use rice pasta for myself.

Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

Today’s question is:

What "kindness" did you receive today?

If you’d like to participate in Aloha Friday, just post your own question on your blog your link to Island life. Remember to visit others.

The importance of a Mother's apology

This morning I lost my temper with my son.
I behaved badly. All day I have grieved it. A friend sent me a devotional about needing Jesus every moment about how When we are thinking we are standing we can so easily falter and error "Missing the Mark".
When I miss the mark I really get angry with myself. I tend to beat myself up a lot. I think that I love that definition of sin...It is an old archery term "missing the mark"= sin. We all miss the mark. Far more often than I wish. I wish every moment of every draw upon my bow I would pause to Measure and set sights, steady my hand and pull back with a strength that only the finest of archer would use. Exercised of arm and eye. Still in my spirit to be the arrow.
Today I just handled my bow and arrow like a sloppy careless bum.
I gave up for that instant in time and just pretty much threw the bow (so to speak) at the kid.
I spent the day ashamed and looking at the bow laying there on the (proverbial) floor. Miss used, disrespected and just dusty.
I need now to pick it up and dust it off. I must appreciate how weak my draw arm has become. How unsteady my wrist. I think I would do well to take the cross bow (literal) out and pull a few arrows and remember who I am. I know the finest archer the finest marksman in Jesus . His marksmanship is perfection.
I apologized to dash for losing it with him this morning. Yes he begged it on (seemingly) but I am the adult who needs to steady myself that a kids bad behavior is based in the kid having a problem, not being a problem. I also admitted my fault and spoke of his error. I apologized to his loving sister too. For my lack of marksmanship was witnessed by her too.
I tried to read the developmental book for a while to understand where he is at. His Exceedingly high IQ is a bitter sweet challenge. He is too smart at times for his own good. It must be very frustrating for the kid. His fine motor is not on line with what he knows he should be able to do. As if to will it should cause it to be able to happen. When he is unable he is just well...very angry temperamental and mouthy. I must set my sights on his abilities and find a way that when I have to draw and set my arrows the sights must be pre-set to be ready to act intentionally not react ill-prepared. The old "study to show yourself approved :)
Understanding...Knowledge...Wisdom...success
I need understanding.

Friday Feast

Appetizer
When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it?
I had done an apron swap and the Woman gave me a hand made wash cloth. I had been desiring one and it was just a extra in the box. There was also a wonderful pad for a shopping list. Simple things that God knew my heart desired.

Soup
If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be?
Winter home here is good, I think in the mountains somewhere like the Pacific North West or in Co.
Salad
Of all the fruits rainier Cherry.

Main Course
Describe the nicest piece of clothing that you own.
Beyond my wedding gown that was hand made over 25 yrs ago. I was given a full length coat by my sister recently that belonged to her dear friend. Her friend had passed away and this coat had been altered. My sister had altered it for your friend. It was purchased in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is amazing a coat that had to be purchased at well over $1000, It has a neck scarf as well. The scarf was made from the cut off fabric when it was altered. It has silver conchos and much embellishment. It is wool lined well.

Dessert
If you could forget one whole day from your life, which day would you choose to wipe from your memory?
This is one for the other blog. What a question.
I almost answered this...I think that there is not only one day. For me it is a time span of many years. I would not be who I am. This question brings recall I would rather soon forget.
As my memory is leaving me and the lack of it is now the problem I would have to pass on this one.
Now every time I err as a parent these things haunt me more.

Eye update

I was able to keep my 2:45 appointment.
Julie
THANK YOU FOR GETTING THE KIDS
The normally one hour appointment took two hours!
He was intrigued by the unusual abnormalities of my eyes.
The prism I thought I was already wearing was in issue.
I misunderstood and Apparently we had held off doing the prism last time.
Now I am at a major cross road.
Today we opted for the path of no more progressive (line less) but keeping them thin (they would be like coke bottles if I did not buy the thin ones, the ani- glare is a requirement due to my visual anomalies. I have to have lines in my bifocals.
A new stronger Rx and new frames.
The frames can now be smaller so that was a perk.
After I have my glasses two weeks if the anomalies are still a problem I have to go with the prism.
The problem with the prism is that once I do it my vision will then
irreversibly deteriorate.
I thought of Denise "how courageous you are".
He thinks that vision therapy can help but it is not covered by insurance and it is 9 months work and expence.
I got the glasses ordered and all in all it was a very good deal.
I came away with a $580 glasses and office visit for $170.
Bless God for Insurance.
The frames were only $8. of that and the two hour office visit $35.!
It was all in the lenses.

The school secretary forgot to give the kids the garage opener and my friend had to drive them to her house (very far away). So I swung home and grabbed Beloved to drive me to go get them. The lights used to examine my retina and to do several other test I have not experienced before, were very tiering and very bright. I often get triggered into a migraine with bright lights so I thought it best to have him drive me.

I made some home made refried beans boy that was a hit for the boys for supper they were good for tortillas (burritos) . Little dove had a peanut butter and fruit spread on whole wheat.
I'm just chillin out.

Would you pay extra for Anti glare on your lenses?

Thought I would stop and take a break.
I found this great shopping list to print out on a blog(?) sometime back.
I have been using it to do inventory. I still have the deep freezer to do.
At my house no one will heat the heal of the loaf of bread, so I made crutons (for salads).
I'll do a "make it yourself" post later.
I also made a batch of refried beans. Did you know if you read your ingredients on the refried beans that they have stopped using the higher quality Pinto and are now using generic (usually white bean) to make the most common refried bean brands. They have now began to even use fillers in them. Check out the old brand of chili and such same thing. Generic low grade beans to make them and high fructose added to flavor it. Nasty oils as well.
I found one organic brand that still uses "Pinto beans".
Very expensive unless they are on reduced price.
So for very little money, a large can of "Pinto" beans , a blinder some salt cumin, cayenne pepper and sea salt. I can just make my own in under 5 minutes. Plus the time it take to wash the blinder :)
I'll do a post on that later too.
I have several loads of laundry done now.
My feet are rested. Back to tasks.

Wow I am going to get new glasses!
I am sorta excited. I have used these frames some time.
Any opinions on the anti glare coating.
??????????
I am trying to decide if I want to just save the money and not get it. Insurance covers half the cost (but only if I get it now).
I think it will help having coke bottle glasses.
Beloved said they make it harder to keep the lenses clean?
I'll get the other frames for the $8. I'd be silly not too plus I'll have these old ones as a stand by pair. I have to have glasses or I just can not see any more. That is so strange to shop for a frame when I can not even see my reflection well with them on me.

Vision care

Good Morning.
Over the last several days I have been noticing my vision is not right. We went to the movies over the Christmas break. My eyes are seeing sorta like a bad 3d effect, and my right eye is going up to the ceiling. Yesterday I had a real bad eye twitch in my right eye. When I told my girl friend about it she said ..."do you feel it right now?" then she told me that my right eye was moving rapidly back and forth and had been during most of our visit.
I could not remember the name of the place (another humbling challenge of it's own ) so I drove around and then found the place. I found out that the last exam I had was in November of 2005!
They would be able to get me in around the 10th of January, then she realized that there was a cancellation of a 2:45 appointment. My friend yesterday made me promise( ! ) that I would call if I needed her help. I called her and the appointment was mine. She will fetch the children from school. I stayed and looked at frames. I have to have my glasses so if I must I could go to a place in a near by town and wait to have my new lenses cut or for $8. more get a whole new frame and have these glasses as a stand by. My new lenses are expensive. I have bifocals called progressives they have no line. At 46 I really do not want to have a line in my lenses. So I found a frame that will fit my wide eyed face. It was within the range of my Insurance coverage so I got a $140 frame for $8.
I also got an appointment for today!
Well it is 10:30 and I just got home better get to work around here

Remember to make your annual eye appointment.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
