"Jesus Cake" Celibrateing the rememberence of the Birth of Christ Jesus

Folks I am a winging it here.
A New Tradition for our Family

Daddy Man an I are creating a new Christ mas for our children.
We have been amiss in our training of them at Christmas time.
We have allowed for far to many years a absence of the focus solely on CHRIST of CHRISTmas

On the "EVE" we have always done the nativity play, but on the morn what they have witnessed is a rushed Mother who begs for everyone to wait for me so I can witness the gifts being opened. Those gifts being opened being the sole focus as they arise and as the grandparents arrive. This year we desire a bit of character training for them that will help them to focus less on greed and more on gratitude.
Less on the gifts and more on those who are offering them a gift.
We are having a Birthday Party for breakfast and a hunt for the baby Jesus (from the nativity ) first.
Daddy Man and I can breath while the hunt goes on, then after we celebrate the "gift of Christ" we will settle down and open our gifts to each other in remembrance of the example of giving that Jesus set for us..

Gifts are in remembrance of what we were given that morning when Christ was born.
Then Daddy Man as the Leader of our home will read the Christmas Story aloud.

In acknowledgment of that, I will be making a
"Jesus Cake".

In the pantry I have the fixings for a cherry chip cake.
Dash had desired a cherry chip on his adoption day.
The center will have a layer with cherry preserves.
Ya...sorta weird if the thought of the blood that was shed for us is considered .
I do not believe in accidents :)
SOoooo.....
"Jesus Cake"
I read one of your blogs where ...
You hide the Baby from the manger then play a game of hunt for it from clues.
I loved that idea!
I think it is brilliant to give them a memory of "HUNTING FOR THE JESUS"
There well could be a day when as a parent we long for them to do so.
(Sorry I do not recall who it was pipe in if it was your post please so others can read it.)
We are changing...Folks it is never too late.
Dash and I spoke of whether to use the "Lamb" cake pan or the "Cross"...
We talked of the "Lamb" of God.
Dash could not understand a Lamb?
So I told him of the Law in the Old Testament, he was awed.

WE are the REASON FOR THE BIRTH OF CHRIST!
He Came For US!
He was born to live and die and be resurrected for US!

We are the reason,
gratitude is too small a price.
Give Him our all.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
