Tackle It Tuesday *Cleaning the wooden blinds*

Sorry for the lack of words earlier.
I just got back from Bible Study...
I have many wood blinds in my home, and have thought many hours about an easier technique to clean them.

This is what I have come up with...

Having Asthma and allergies I find this a must!

The best investment you can make as far as general usefulness is a few dozen good cloth baby diapers. Yes, hear me out. They are good to use during he infant years for the butt or as I did for general butt drying. I used disposable diapers.
Having these cloth ones you have the BEST soft cotton for years of service.
They are now used in my home for general cleaning. Of course they were sanitized years ago.
Wet the cloth with ONLY water! Yep nothing else.
If you use cleaners they will leave a residue and you will shoot (all your efforts) yourself in the foot!
So with only a wet cloth I begin.

Turn the blinds downward
Wipe in a downward stroke form top to bottom a section at a time to keep your place.
rinse out the cloth...

Now turn the blind upward
wipe upward,a section at a time, to keep your place.
rinse the cloth again.

Now open the blind at a 45* downward angle and you will see a little line of dust on each stat.
Now is the one by one, but it will go a lot faster.
This method is much more efficient for me.
I can do a single window blind in 15 minute...

The light through the blind will reveal any missed slates, just step back.

11 singles and 1 double window down I have a total of 16 single and 2 double windows .
With all the window I have, I find the blinds much easier than the fabric treatments we once had.
Dash and I both have breathing issues and this keeps us healthier. Avoiding medication is better that taking it to have to deal with all the extra dust.

Days End
8:30 p.m.
I was able to get three more done in the living room.
It is really making my back hurt to do it.

The children s laundry is also finished and they got it all put away.
That was a task in it self.
Well as tired as I am I have just realized that with Dove's orthodontist appointment at 8:30 and my service work at the school with her peers. My morning is used up tomorrow. I better pull myself up and keep going.
I hope you all had a great day.

I used cloth diapers on my kids, and they did make GREAT rags when they were potty trained. Thanks for the cleaning tips! Vacuuming works well too.

Wood blinds slats are the lightest of all blinds and are generally the best bet for large windows. They are known to give a cozy feel to the room and provide the desired privacy, even while allowing enough sunlight to filter through the slats.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
