Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below over at "Island Life". Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My Question...?

Do you pack lunches for yourself or your spouse?
If so what do you pack?

We both pack lunches. We are fortunate to work at companies with employee kitchens. So on Saturday I will shop for the next week lunches and take a grocery bag of food in on MOnday AM. Then I just make whatever is in the fridge .... its nice not having to think about it the night before in the midst of bath and bedtime.
Plus not spending $$$ going out to lunch works great too.

When my husband is working I do pack food for him. It's not so much a lunch since he works for an airline and is gone on a layover. The layovers are usually overnight and I pack leftover whatever we had for dinner, fruit (depending on what country he's going to because of customs) juice, cereal and snacks.

we both pack our own lunches. sometimes I cheat and buy while at work, but I almost always prefer to make my own.

I work at home so my lunch is easy. Hubby has always packed his own and does a remarkable job at it. He packs salads, carrots, yogurts, etc... He does like to throw in his cookies too though!

We own our own business so we do bring lunch in most days. We also have a microwave so alot of times we bring in leftovers.

On Friday's we always grill out for everyone! Today we had a real feast...grilled chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs! It was delicious!!

Plus the sunshine and big puffy clouds made it a real joy to sit out and admire God's handiwork!

Every day I pack a lunch for my husband and even though he has a calfateria at his work place, he states my food is better and the price there is not worth it! Generally it is either a sandwich or previous nights dinner, with a fruit and some sort of either granola bar or cookie. Certainly more then I eat for lunch!

Even though they provide us with crew meals on the plane, I usually take something with me. Usually it's whatever we had for dinner the night before.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
