Memorial Day

World War II

Some say it never happened
Evil was not a reality
through the hand of man
History repeats what it forgets
Remember

Those were the witnesses
who could barley speak
spoke of horrors
Truth was told
History repeats what it forgets

We saw the death camps
The images burned our minds
Yet some will say
It never really happened
History allowed to be forgotten

Evil is real
history must never be repeated
remember, never forget it
History remembered
the story retold stays alive.

Remember, speak the thing known
Honor our heroes
Humble your selves to be honorable
history remembered
frees our future
through the scars of our past

WOW! That is a beautiful poem, Donetta. Very moving and very passionate.
Over at Desert Songbird's place I never knew there are so many MIAs from WWII. It is true History should be remembered!!

I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.
