So say I to this challenge
Many a dear friend has been made here in blog land. Have you ever wanted to spend some time with them. Well this might just be your chance. October 23-24, 2009 there will be held a gathering of like minded Ladies that are taking a break from every day and taking the time to "come away".
Needing a time to be refreshed and gather with those who walk in peace, speak of the things that they have heard and witnessed in Him...This will refresh the soul of the most wherry a woman.
This is my heart to be refreshed. Fellowship is a sweet thing to look into the eye of those whose words we share as we share our own. The keypads we type upon limited from the gaze of the eye to eye that removes us from words and brings us just to a place of being together.

In hopes of defraying the cost of the trip, it is my desire that just perhaps that grace might come my way to make this long trip to Florida from Arizona.

Tackle it Tuesday

What a way to start off my day.
This morning I sliced the bread for my Darling's lunch...

With many things on my desire list this is one that will be done a little at a time.

Make a Flower bed.
Oh Look Gloves
Smirk
Perhaps I might just think about my hands this time and protect them....
:)
a task of love

This just does not look like I see it in my heart
Oh No, no no no....

Well there is only one thing to do about it....
Dash even got in on it.
It looked like fun to him.

The rock is very deep in this section and the ants are not all gone YET!

Then inspiration.
We have an old box the folks gave us.
I thought to put it over where the new garden extension raised beds will be going. I will drop the rock over there and once the beds are ready perhaps the rock will do well for the drainage.

I figured out how to block

I found an awesome site that taught me how to get clear of the followers who you wish to be free from. They can not then bother your followers. Ya!!!!!!!!
It is like I have my blog back.

here

I found myself mesmerized by watching my hands knead the bread dough tonight.
I never saw how beautiful they looked before.
I had cherry fizz polish, fancy huh...
It was one of those moments and Steve took pictures.
Wow, all my life one of the favorite things I ever could spend time doing was watching a woman's hands at her craft or skill. I love watching a woman's hands tat, or knit or sew, paint what ever it is. I watched my own hands tonight and really enjoyed it.

I hope that don't sound to weird but then again if your reading this you might just understand.

My little ring holder is much better served over here than by the sink.
It even matches the jars.
Breads on second rise and the last batch of cookies got finished after this image.
So it is time for me to rest and come visit all of you.
The kitchen looks so different without the sunflowers.
Sew I need to sew those valence and get some color in here!
I also have some beading to do.

Yep! I am human just like you!

Sung to the tune of Raw Hide

Laundry...laundry...laundry...
Keep that laundry going ah ha...
Sort em' out
load em' up
swap a load...
keep that dryer rollen' ahh ha
Don't try ti just ignore it
clinch the bullet and do it
Laundry....
"Hidden in the mounds of your dirty laundry"
:)

The line is going to be happily full in the morning
Today the children's hearts came first.

I took them to the mall today and had a wonderful time.
They are learning budgeting.
Oh you guys these babies just blessed me so much.
Dove noticed the price comparison of a toy they wanted and expressed herself as appalled to her brother!
It was so funny I had to cover my mouth and turn as to not let on I heard her.

We went out on my Pei Wei gift card that Doves class had given me.
Dove had a real hard time receiving this offer.
I had told them however that I would not disrespect their father by not adhering to budget. I really hope to be able to go camping on more time this month.

They received it with gratitude and we had a really nice lunch date together.

We then went to target.
They each had the allowance and that was it.
Dove have saved about a week and a half worth on top of what I owed them.

What she and he wanted left them each $2.50 short.
I told Dove that she could owe me.
And to my JOY!!!

She said "no way! I am not going to owe anyone anything! I hate owing money!!!!!!!
WHOOPEE
We did it!
We got it into her!

When I told Steve he almost teared up.

Funny yesterday I glanced over at this space...
I was up on a foot stool
face to face with my tea pots...
Look at the apron rack.
Well some things just belong.
Perfectly belong here don't they?

My new day spa
:)

the tub is set for a pedicure at any moment.
My life happens in moments...
Most times the moment is lost for there I am wanting yet no time to gather all the tools to do it.
The bath pillow is now ever set to nurture a tired woman.
It is normally kept in a cupboard.

The flowers are

Coreopis= Always cheerful, love at first sight
Cherry Blossom = A good education

Now for nail care.
I have ignored my hands most of my life.
They have been brutally bitten in times of great stress.
It is high time I give then center attention.
I stopped biting my nails this spring.

So here is everything I need to care for my hands.
The day this was set well I sat and did my hands and nail care with respect for myself.
The hand is one of the kiln fired pieces I made years ago it held my ring.
I love hands.
funny now I begin to love my own hands.
That is alcohol to prep the nail for polish.
Some of these polished will be too old.
Over the years I have tried to care for my hands and just forget or get too distracted.
Then the cuticle would dry and I would tear it and then bite the nail and so one.
Nail biting was one of the outlets I used for displaced emotional pain.
Now when I hurt I have learned to just use my words and be kind to myself.

My husband is his fathers Son.
Here is Doves tooth brush.
She has braces and this old electric sonna care was dead and the battery no longer would recharge.
So Steve re soldered it to have a different current and to run off of the umbilical of a flash light battery.
He really is very creative in his own right.
You know to replace this thing is a good $60.
Reuse/ repair and reinvent.

Well off to make a late loaf of bread for my hubbies lunch tomorrow.
See ya on the flip side.
:)

Menu Plan Monday

This week the big adventure will be in making authentic tortillas and some green sauce.
Tomatillo is a fruit that is like a green tomato in looks but not a tomato.

I love this book!
It is very old.
It tells of each item how to purchase/store and use it.

A dear friend told me if I get the Crisco and the matsa she will come over with her own rolling pen and we can make tortillas togeather. So check back next week.

Now the tomatillo it is a Peruvian native.
This is how the book is laid out.
I just love this quality reference.

Best purchased small...opps
Always learning something new.
Recipe here

I look forward to making my own.
I purchased this often at a Trader Joe's store.
It is a family favorite.
Perhaps it will be better and much cheaper at $1 a pound for them at the local Wal-Mart.
The Hispanic section at this store near me has really grown.

It is now ours alone.

We have yet a lot to do.
Or should I say I mostly do.

The vanity has yet to be detailed.

We again replace the string in the large blind.
This time we went to a Joannes house of Fabrics and found some twine made especially for the purpose.
Still it bound and would not pull open easily.
Steve went out to the shop and made a new part for it.
It is wonderful!
Now I have an open window again.
We did not choose to buy all new blinds.
The fix...$4.17 of .19 cent a yard drapery twine and a lot of effort.
Reuse and renew:)
I am eager to create some valence.

That quilt on the bed was made in June of 1982 three months after we were married.
I did not let any time go by before we had a quilt.
It was cool to see the embroidered date it is 27 years ago almost to the day!
That was all the fabric of our youths.
His mom gave me scrap and I used scrap I had left over from things I had sewn. The Elder was painted by my MILove, she was going to throw it away!!!!!
No Way!!!!! I told her to throw it my way.
I put some costume jewelery on the dresser and my bracelets.
Now remember I make jewelry...
That is my Indian wedding dress.
It is hide and beads and feathers.
That is a Tao's drum, and a talking stick.
Psalm 31 is in a shelled frame.
That is the self portrait painting.
Teeth brushing time.
We just finished family movie night.
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.
I covered my eyes a lot.
Left me uncomfortable often.
Don't care too much for those sorts of movies.

Going through the vase of flowers in the living room and a few from the garage I was able to come up with this mix.

I really like it!
That whole corner is refreshing.
That is the figurine of my blog header.
This is the first time I found a place for it I really like.
Forget-me-not= true Love
rose, burgundy= Unconscious Beauty

Camellia= Loveliness

Here's to hoping all of you had fun this week end.
I had a blast doing our master bedroom suite.
I worked all day on the bathroom and turned it into a spa of sorts.
I will have to show it later.

I had read that why would any one want to take care of their own self in a stinky messy bathroom that lacked in charm.
I even did a manicure!, pedicure too!
I created a place where I would see the set up and take the time to show better care to my hands and feet.
My weight is also recently dropping.
I think I am beginging to realy care about myself.
Dove also really needs that to be exampled to her.

Out of the suite came everything little girl and all entered was woman and the masculine as well.
You might say it grew up this weekend.
Everything that is not of our relationship alone was removed into the proper places.

It is now ours alone.

Love is a wonderful thing

It teaches our hearts to sing.

This is our new area for a time together.
The loving corner.

Now to do the research to see what will grow in that location in our climate.
Then see what will grow together in the same PH.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
