Choosing the best Turkey for the money

Good Morning
The butcher taught me a trick this morning. When choosing your turkey pick a hen not a tom. Look at the bird if it is more of a 'v' shape that one is the tom. If side by side the hen will have a wider curved appearance. The hen is more meat per pound. He said he can't tell everyone or he would be stuck with a lot of toms to sell off.
I got my bird for free to use later.

Tomorrow
'Thankfully' I rest with the pleasure of family and friends.

May beauty wrap you up too and rest refresh you. Take time for the young ones as well as the elders. Laugh if you burn a biscuit or scorch a pot. Be silly and except the turkey and yourself just as you are. Perfection is found in the heart free of pretense. Remove all fear over concern what others might or might not think of you. You are beautiful. Your efforts a gift that I appreciate as I hope and trust those who receive them ought. Each little detail is seen. God sees it. Others might and neglect to speak it. When you notice them in others speak up.
Remember you can not read others minds so do not assume. They can not read yours so speak out.
Happy hearts of gratitude be calm. Remove the fret and enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Sally's Fabrics is closing

Another sewing center is coming to an end. So many of our stores have closed now. Sewing is a dieing art slowing the wheel of do it yourself. Once that wheel stops it will become an elite hobby. One that will be afforded by those with high end budgets.
If you live in the area you might just think to add some staples to your supplies.

batting
zipper
thread
needles
netting for dish scrubbers
transfer paper
pins
It is like a sale for your pantry. Just call it being supplied. Now there may not be a lot of competition for the hard times are upon so many.

Remember Christmas is coming all you who sew on and on.

Entitlement?

This was sent to me, I am forwarding it because it does touch a nerve in me..

This is another example
"TREASON in high places" !!!

Get angry and pass this on!

Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.

If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madhoff ever had.

Entitlement my a--, I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Congressional benefits ---- free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement entitlements?

We're "broke" and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey . And now Pakistan ......home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn't it?

99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.

I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did.

TWO WAY GLASS IMAGE MIRROR IMAGE

A Mirror or a 2-Way Glass?
How can you tell when you are in a room, restroom, motel etc. with
a mirror or a 2-way glass?
Here's how: I thought it was quite interesting! And I know
in about 30 seconds you're going to do what I did and find
the nearest mirror.

Do you know how to determine if a mirror is 2-way or not?
A policewoman who travels all over the US and gives seminars
and techniques for businesswomen passed this on.

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms,
etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary
mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way
mirror (i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)?
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors
in female changing rooms . It is very difficult to positively identify
the surface by looking at it.

So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type
of mirror we are looking at?

Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective
surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail,
then it is GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the
image of your nail, then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!

"No Space, Leave the Place" So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the

"fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything.

REMEMBER. No Space, Leave the Place:

Ladies: Share this with your girlfriends, sisters, daughters, etc.

Men: Share this with your wives, daughters, daughters-in-law, mothers,
girlfriends and/or friends.

Are we quenching the thirst compelled by that we love?

Wednesday at my doc appointment there was this new nurse who was so vibrant. Who just transferred from bed side nursing. She was glowing with a love of life energy.
She said something that touched me to the core.

That day I had a bit of a low sense of self. Of late I have felt dull and life was without much luster.
When I commented on the beauty of her energy

she said..."I love what I am doing, I am learning more about what I love to do every day"

It really hit me. Do I love what I am doing? Am I learning more about what I love everyday?
Just what is it I really love to do? For me there are several things, BUT am I learning about them.

Am I quenching the thirst, that the love, of what I am doing compels?

I think I will just spend some time listing out those things that I love. Funny how it gave me a very light heart and a hope.

I Love too...
sew
garden
parent
cook
train dogs
flowers
enjoy living things, wild life
live in a beautiful environment
live simply and debt free
avoid shopping
encouraging others
disseminating information that might help others
Interior decor

so today..
I will learn more about my surger
read up on the tomato problem in the garden and water the garden
decide if I will plant anything else for this summer (we will have a vacation this year and the care of pets and garden will be delegated. I want to keep that as easy as possible for whoever is doing those tasks)
Make a chore chart for the kids
Think about or read a cookbook for ideas
Walk my dog and train him
Water my flowers and feed them
let the hens out Maybe make some wild bird food?
Clean my closet
try baking soda to scrub the kids tub
fill in the budget ready the bills to be paid
email or call a friend
write this post
clear the sewing room wall of nails and tape fill holes
I hit ctrl/C, to copy this over to a word document and then printed it for my list to help me keep focused and motivated.

What do you love to do?
What will you do to fulfill your heart today?

Thankful Thursday IVIG Referals

Good Morning
Yesterday I left my appointment for the CVID and IVIG with great news! After 11 months of monthly 6 hour  infusions of gamma globulin my goal of getting the levels over 1000 has been reached. This is the trough level goal or the lowest levels between infusions. This means that no longer will it be a certainty that infections would grab hold of me in a social setting. Although the risk are yet greater than the population at large it is no longer a certain life threatening risk. It means that the freedom of access without the fear of illness has been gained! This is fantastic news!
If it were not for the treatments my life would be at serious risk. Now I can breath both figuratively and actually. A mask still for if someone in my vicinity is known to be ill, or in large crowds but fear is leaving me. It has been a real torment and concern. Leaving this gregarious woman rather isolated and somewhat exhausted of life. Sad, lonely and mentally defeated. Now I smile once again at my future.
Even if the knee replacement come to be it would be able to be done without being a life threatening thing. YES one day a new knee. It is only due to my levels being stable.

Well now as he calls me 'a proactive patient' another patient and I will be trying to set up a local support network.
I remembered of how long ago when an illness or trial would hit, I would think that "this is not about me, it is about God being  glorified". Somehow in the midst of the last year I had forgotten that. So many trials that I saw an end to were easier to think that way. This was harder, for 49 years I had been ridiculed, harassed by test after test. Thought to have Alzheimer, and a myriad of other issues. It was so demising and shaming. That is what people go through. So if in that God can be glorified perhaps it is in this. You are never alone. There are others who like you. Those that just can not figure out why your so ill for so long.
When we suffer it really is about how we can comfort others . It did not feel that way going through this for the last 11 months. It did not 'feel' like this either all those many years of scare after scare. Primary Immune issues show up as many different types of symptoms that defy most physicians without the knowledge to recognize it.  If you know that something is just not right...NEVER let them make you think it is all in your head or that you must be making it all up for attention. I was treated that way even by family members. It is so painful. So encourage one another, as I too hope to encourage you.
Now that I see a light, it is easier to get out of myself and do so.
I had to grieve the betrayal of all those years. Felt real angry that 'God' would allow it of me. Felt real sad that shame had removed the dignity allowed me for so many many years. These things are a normal part of grief. As is the joy that can come in the 'morning' (mourning) of a thing.

Now for all you who suffer the ignorance and isolation gained for you here are some referrals gained yesterday at my immunologist. We who have CVID often have been told "it shouldn't" as if it all in our minds. Remember the problem is that the knowledge is just not within their minds to understand this rather rare problem.

Try these referrals...In Phoenix, Gilbert, Scottsdale and Mesa Arizona. Arizona Allergy and Asthma Institute.
First His ( Levente E Erdos, M.D.) strong statement of make sure
a physician is board certified immunologist.

this is the web site
American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunoligyhttp://www.acaai.org

Here you can find a listing of physicians you can help with Primary Immune D.
Sure hope this helps you who have asked for assistance.

Also the PIF (Primary Immune Foundation) is having it conference June 23-25 the here in the valley. Hit the 'Think Zebra' link on side bar. I am so hoping for a scholarship to attend. they have patient and professional lectures and social events.

Habitat for Humanity

Hello folks
Yesterday while I was out I happened to stumble upon a thrift shop that sells for this group. The thrift shop uses the proceeds to build and or provide homes/shelter.
Location
Southern and Dobson roads in Mesa AZ
on the North/East corner.

Look up one in your community as well. These people really do a good thing.
Some nail patch and a cast iron grill pan were my finds. Funny that cast iron pan has been on my wish list. The cashier said it was a real strange item the first she had ever seen. Mostly they have building materials. Very little furniture. We are donating the TV to them. Next week they will be sending out a truck to pick it up.

elbows, toes then a foot. Moments later sirins police and the coronor...

What a strange strange day I have had...
We had a child sleep over last night. Call her Lena...well all the children went to the football field and played as Steve and I walked the track around them. They played soccer with abandon until we took all three of them for ice cream. Dove with her Special needs feels nothing...she was walking toward us to leave and sat on the grass..."honey she's hurt" say I. "no she just does not want to leave" the daddy man replies. "no, my antenna is up, shes hurt" I repeated.
We walk to her and she has busted open both of her big toe nails, BLEEDING! She did not even know it until the fun was over. She has the sensory integration stuff. Her neurons just do not process pain normally. She knew something was wrong with her toes but it just did not register. She gets up and walks to the car "oh I'm alright" she said. Steve said "no honey your not alright your toes are hurt.
She was not even phased!

This the next day now...While the kids were riding a neighborhood boy stops by and Dash said "mom He's hurt his arm". This the child call him Gary is the kid that plays with ours regularly. So I give him first aid on a half dollar size road rash on his elbow.

Steve and I are sitting on the front porch, as our windshield is being replaced (it was damaged) no big deal. We were however outside. Kids riding bikes helmets on. Then a screaming Lena (call her) is major red in the face as Steve and I are trying to understand what happened. Her and Dove got on a bike tandem (the grand mother had just told Lena not to do so before she came here the night before). Lena's foot got caught in the front tire spokes. BARE FOOT! She tore all of the flesh off of the big toe and the next two toes from tip under to the pad of foot. Just skinned it almost to bone. First aid being done and the child trying to get a parent to come. After a half hour to 45min. The mother comes at the same time the grandpa pulls up. The Mother a VERY stressed out single mom. She had to leave work where it is so strict that points are given against them. The Grandpa lovingly walks up to pick Lina up and carry her to his truck. Steve took the child as the elder had no business carrying her. The Mother walks up NO JOKE yells at the child "I had  1 & 1/2 taken against me!" The grandpa said "STOP!" to her.
Steve carries Lena over to the grandpa's truck and they are off to the hospital.

Emergency Sign

Now meanwhile Dove is hiding up in the attic! We found her then in the computer room all red faced not willing to accept any words or comfort "I'm fine"!
So I told Steve we have to shut her off so she will feel her feelings. Get ready for a battle. Even if shes gets angry she will at least feel and stop stuffing it. She gave us a little grief. Then we feed her. Mean while I did some first aide on those toes of hers.

Now all this time Dash is down at Garry's house. I get him home and feed him and then let him return.
Before he leaves he said "be careful mom"

Ambulance

All of this in oh 45 minutes time or so. Then while moments later sitting at my vanity gromming I hear an ambulance. Strange feeling came over me like it was an old ice cream truck and I listened and gradually it came closer and closer. I flew up and out the door yelling for Steve to come fast! The police two cares come after the fire engine, then two ambulance. I am walking as fast as possible now.
Neighbors came out and ask of me and I just said "my boys down there".
I round the corner and knowing that Garry's Grandparents lived near by not sure what house was theirs I ring the bell at Garry's house and asked. Indeed it was at Garry's Mothers', Mothers that the emergency was happening. Garry's mom comes out and I asked if she wanted me to say with her she asked me too. We walked together and entered to find that Garry's Grandpa was Dead!

T10 CORONER BLACK
They will have to deal with this within the next few hours

I stayed as Steve took Garry and our kids back to our house. Steve overheard the paramedics say they were trying to revive him. So Steve explained to asking children what that meant. Meanwhile I am there at the home of the grandparents praying over all the folks at tasks. Just standing there praying. The police man recognized me from when they arrested the man who had robbed a neighbors house. Same officer. So he and I speak and I tell him of how much I have personally prayed for him as well. After our interactions of past I have often thought of the officers and prayed for the safety. So all this is going on and once I get a parent to tell Gary I could then leave. For I knew not to return home to inquisitive kids. We will keep Gary a day or two. Gary is a Special Needs kid. He is ADHD BIG TIME! I think the child also may have mild autism.

The children are playing I am stunned and sorta standing on holy ground. The way I was drawn and called into the events of the last 6 hours amaze me. We are still awaiting news on Lena's foot. That poor child just begged "I want my mom" and when the mom got here not an ounce of empathy or tenderness. I held that baby's face in her grandpas truck and told her she did nothing wrong. That her mom is just stressed out. That she is worthy so to speak of all the love and kindness. I told her I loved her and they were off. She is still at hospital 5 hours later now.

So PLEASE pray for
Garry's grandma and the family at large (Garry's mom as she is helping her now widowed mother)
Pray for Garry for as the evening sets in so might the reality that his grandpa just died. He is numb right now like it is just a normal play day.
I need wisdom! Steve and I both.
Please pray for Lena, her mother that she might be able to overcome at work the penalties and that her job not be in jeopardy. She had only and hour of shift left but no guardianship to the grandparents and I had no way to get the child to and urgent care because of lack of insurance information. Or parental permission for that matter.
Pray for Dove she is also wrecked and is disassociating and not congruent to emote. She is being very kind to Garry (a child she does not particularly like). We may have this boy here for two days.
MERCY for all.
Thank you

Clean hands

Through out my days it has been my desire to have Clean hands and a pure heart. Now many things will come toward us that will muddy up our hands and do everything against our heart staying pure.  I want to be blessed. Blessed is the man with a clean heart.
No blood shed, no wounds to the hearts of others that might leave my hands soiled as it were with innocence defiled. The worst thing about this life is when good men and women do nothing. That is when evil will flourish.  Have you ever noticed however how hard it can be to kick against that wall.
Well here for a season my foot just got too dog gone sore to kick at that old wall in my way. I did my best to side step it with a 'it is not on my hands' kind of mentality just so as to not have a broken foot.

There is a real cool phrase I have heard...

"well, how's that working for ya?"

Well it seemed to offer a bit of rest from the toes tried and tired. I noticed something though. If I did not kick against the evil than no one did. Or so it seamed. A child then got to kicking at that wall as well then he got tired. I would just say...do what you know is right. How is it said? "be an example"
The old do as I say not as I do was just not cutting it for me. So with all my strength I began to press on that wall. Now trust me it took some major opposition. Made the masses inconvenienced but eventually the effect of the wall became notice. It was changing the lives of those I hold most dear.
The time had come at hand to just out and out pulling out sledge hammer if I must and knock it down. As it seems me stepping down to make everyone comfortable caused just as much an issue. All things due in it's season of course.

Recently to my delight the hands of my family have become washed as it were.

These new ages of all things permissible does not mean that they are profitable.  The technology that surrounds us and is streamed into our lives is a wash as a flood of refuse. All the artist and film makers efforts pilfered by the masses. The software authors loss of respect and revenue is the wealth of the masses as well. All here for the savvy to exploit. We call it our right or our good fortune.

When is our good fortune ever a gain if our hands are filthy. " 'taint non of us clean of it"!

So it is our efforts to become so. The loss of all the "free" entertainment, educational information, movies and even the old shows streamed in. Unless they are acquired legally we are not of clean hands.
Of all the apparent gain it is filtered in error. Error that well can come back on our families and bite them in their character and in the lax of life. A robber in itself.
This had caused such great shame for me personally that I all but withdrew from life on the computer.
Now however the hearts are purer, hands becoming clean. It is a great expense to remove all illegal software, movie, media, and such. Yes we understand this however there are a few wonderful resources out there.
We found one that for $200 a year you can gain almost all of the varied Window's applications of software for a year. It takes great diligence to down load and restart, rebuild the computer systems. Not for the faint of heart. It does do wonders however for the pure of heart.

Reaching out with dirty hands makes one just want to keep them in your pockets. Once the hand is clean it is a joy however to extend it to another.

Like in the movie 'Wallie' we are consumed.

It took 700 years for this poor ol' robot  and the earth to see life, once they saw it freedom then began for all those folk who thought it so awesome to be feed the comfort. Most never even realized that there was life out there away from the computer monitor.  Those dog gone things started to own the folks. We are to own what we own. If it is not ours them we must return it to the rightful owners.

It has been challenging. However once the outcry of the missing media calmed down...we are now as a family going for nightly walks, eating supper together at the table again. Actually looking into each others eyes.

Oh that wall is finally coming down and not being a blind wall. Seeing life as a balence is an awesome thing.
So now my hands are clean, my heart is retuning to me. I no longer am ashamed. Shame is a gift that calls us to make a course correction. I had to stop ignoring the wall that tired my foot, divided my union and made me look like a prude to my kids. They have a respect now for us. I too have a great respect for my husband. As he now rebuilds our computers and makes right this wrong.

It was like honey drawing in the naive.

Own what you own. If you can not afford it than ask God to fill the need/want as HE sees fit. Is it a loss yep. Oh what a gain however when your hands are clean and your heart has the freedom found in purity.

On Being a good neighbor

Tonight I was chilling and reading the list of free stuff on craigs list. An add was on there that said to come to help stuff all sorts of stuff with the address on the leader line. It was including images of belongings with the house photo as well.
I called 911 for the add had come up only 15 minutes prior.
An officer called me back. Thanked me the family was being set up. A vendetta or prank. Within moments up an add like that can generate 50 responders on the way to the house in a frenzy.

The police were able to intervene and the home owner was alerted.

It felt so good when the officer told me thanks, and that my call had saved a family many issues. The add acted as if everything was for the taking. Imagine looking out your window to see vehicles coming and the folks getting out to strip your property and make the way inside. NEVER take anything without owner approval! ever.
Folks of common sense will know this but as we all know that is not to common now a days.

Craigslist Free ; a field to glean

One mans junk is another mans treasure
One mans problem can be another mans solution.

Remember the old Story of Ruth in the scriptures. She had the humility and loyalty to glean. It is a simple task really. The main thing one needs is humility. Walking into the service of another.

A single mom needed this thing out of her second story apartment. She put it on for free as a joke thinking no one would be interested. This is exactly what I saw for $200 except it was painted white.
I said that would be perfect to my Papa God, He knew. He served us all. Now I had no idea what this would be like. Just as Steve was leaving to make a dumpster run for her, the very thing she was concerned about happened. She was served with summons for a ticket.

Steve felt so bad. She thought it was Steve knocking returning after doing the dumpster run for her. While gone he saw himself giving her all the cash in his wallet. Now mind you we very seldom have cash on hand. He had returned some copy ink. He was able to make a difference. She refused it and He asked her to let him bless her.

The Box was half full of toys and whatnot's. Dash kept everything in the left bag while the other bag will be passed on. On the table NO JOKE was a microphone (I once wanted to get one for Dove).
A very pretty stone bead. Pencil erasers that I literally had just made mention to HIM that I could use more of. While decorating my master bath Monday I wished I could make a triad of shells :) the third one was right in there. I told Dove we needed to get her a few more pony tail holders. That I would get her some when I go to the store. Oh by the way she loves red. See the pony holder on the corner.
There was a crane that is a remote control, a remote car.

I had made note of needing to get a few infant toys for when my Great Nephew comes to visit.
Get this there is even the dry eraser that I had spoke aloud of...that I missed the one I used to have on the end of my black marker.

A little butterfly button that can be used in the kids bathroom theme. A small tape recorder for me to use if needed when at an appointment or something. I am very forgetful under stress. Several times family and friends told me to get one.

Being loved by God is like
'Christ'mas every day!

Texting terms teens use

Wow! I just read an awesome eye opening article found

  1. "Parents do you know what your kids are texting?" click here

There is a site that you can find a lint to  noslang.com

There is even a side bar breaking them down to topics.
There can be found there code to save our kids when allowed to be on line or if they have a cell phone.
Oh how "safe" we keep our kids."   one argument I hear from parents

"If they just have a cell phone we will know where they are"    I have heard over and over too.

If we give them a cell phone we will never really know where they are or who they are speaking with.
Let alone just what it is they are talking about doing.
SMELL THE ROSES

Please protect your kids and pass this information on.
Thank you.

Hundreds believed sickened by tainted eggs!

A total of 380 million eggs have been recalled since last week because of concerns they may be tainted with the potentially deadly salmonella bacteria, the Egg Safety Center said.
Salmonella, which is generally contracted from contaminated poultry, meat, eggs, or water, impacts the intestinal track.
Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps, which typically begin within 12 to 72 hours, according to the CDC. Vomiting, chills, headache and muscle pains may also occur, according to the Mayo Clinic. These symptoms last about four to seven days, and then go away without specific treatment in healthy people. Antidiarrheal medications may help with cramps, but they may also prolong the diarrhea, the Mayo Clinic said.

So anyone else want to have a few chickens?
Mass production creates mass epidemics. The old agrarian culture has a lot to say for itself. The indulgence of ease can often place us in a dependent position to our own harm. We have 5 chickens was six but lost one. We have had almost 1200 eggs over two years. Do I need to purchase feed? Yes at $14. a bag for a month. They also eat kitchen scrap, fertilize my garden, entertain and educate my children. They are pets that produce. We need no rooster for the girls lay without. The only need for rooster is if chicks are desired. In the city we can not have one. They tend to be ornery things anyhow. Some folks like to eat fertile eggs. Well not I. The eggs are a deep yellow almost orange yoke. Although my little bantam (breed) chickens lay eggs that are only half size they are so nutrient dense it is like eating two eggs. They are filling. The hutch was a bit of an investment. We have a tractor hutch now under a canopy. The girls are not free range due to the hawks. One sat on the hutch one day not 3 feet away on the outside of the widow I was sitting near. Good warning.

So learn more about having your own chickens. Gain some independence . Begin to be more dependable toward your own needs. Who can you trust more? If there is not a way to do this then be sure to get farm eggs if your able. If this is yet not an option take your health into account and perhaps just use a powdered egg product for cooking and baking.

Craigslist Reduce~ Reuse~Recycle for free

Every Morning first thing and also throughout the day we check the Craigslist adds for FREE listings.
Looking for the East Valley or at least a reasonable drive and calling if it is something we can well make use of.
Last night Steve came in to ask me about a portable neutralizer if we were interested I jumped on it. Dash and I both have Asthma. Now Traveling will be a 'breeze' ha pun intended. Now mind you this was free it is a rather costly thing to purchase. Note also it had been requested some time back with a "hay God it would be cool if..." .

Having new gardens The need for good planting and potting soils is a constant. Last week we got a garden sink and several hoses, a pork roast, a whole turkey and this...a long bed pick up fill of  quality soil. Now this is soil that the fellow got while working at a home store. It is all Miracle Grow. High end stuff. The man was moving and had to get the rental back into original state. He had four raised beds full of it. We made friends and his darling four year old wheel chair bound child and my kids really hit it off. With my knee injections there was a concern I would miss out on it. This kind soul had it all loaded including the big black pots. ALL FREE  More wonderful was the interactive humanity.
His wife was already in Texas so I sent along two pair of earrings for her that I had made.

There was enough potting soil to fill this pot. I had been wanting to do that but was low on the list to purchase potting soil.

All three of these large black pots were full of potting soil and then some.
That bald spot in the yard is calling for a tree.
He gave me this bench last week and the broken pot is a gift many many years ago from my SILove and her family as a house warming gift.
It is also filled with the potting soil.

The soil also filled the arbor bed a good 4 inches more.
Now that flower bed is a good 6 inches deep of high end miracle grow.
Think of the cost if we purchased it.
Just one black pot is a good 50 pound bag.

Ready now to be leveled and planted in 3 weeks.
In three weeks it will be perfect time my knee shots will be done for another year, and the next infusion will be over as well. I will be set just in time to plant the fall crops.
This bed has settled by half. It was straw based last year and I had to fill it to use it this fall. Look at that it is all but ready once we add the compost. Now that is some happy soil.

We were also able to fill the Iris bed.

I also look under wanted and find things that might be bartered.
Looking under wanted you might just find something another needs that you now longer have need of.

A study in Socialism

An  economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never  failed a single student before,
but had once failed an entire  class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that  no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The  professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on  Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive  the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A...
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied  little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who  studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided  they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test  average was a D!
No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled  around, the average was an F..
The scores never increased as  bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one  would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great  surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately  fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but  when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to  succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.
Remember, there is a mid-term election in  2010!

Meal Plan Monday

Good Morning!
Well the 'big board' is up and running another week here.
This is my brain on the wall, suppose you could call it a 'fly on the wall ' as well.
This is central station where we are all kept on the same page.
Order in the mind can become complicated and distract from the very efforts put forth.

I hope you dance today it is the spice of life

Pencils are sharpened for school begins next week.

This is prep for the pickles.
Purchased by the gallon for $5.
Now this jar is broken down like so, the two smaller jars are relish.
This is not for the pantry (they are not processed or canned ) however just refer cut.
Those onion harvested from the fellow off Creigs list.
Cut in dice for the weeks menu, bell pepper as well.
Gee is in the other.

A wonderful dish was made here.

Turmeric Corn

Saute' onion in olive oil till tender, add peppers (adente'),then corn with the turmeric.
Now gently pan fry. We had it with BBQ steak over the weekend.

Prep work is essential in any professional kitchen. This kitchen 3x7 meals at least each week. Home cooked almost all by scratch. That is professional cooking folks.
Think of it.
The profession of homemaker is a high paying wage of its own.
Skills only serve you to gain and refine.
Doing it well beats any eat out unless your palls with Chef Ramsey.
Working in a kitchen job from hell.

Yukon baked in glass. Just wash no foil needed to bake them and the moisture stays in.
These are for the week. Used in meal, as a snack cold or diced at breakfast sauteed with peppers and onion some diced green onions for color.
Roasted garlic as a spread for toasted begets with tomato basil and Parmesan cheese.
Roasted large pearl onion for meals.

See the new clear canisters they were on a table at curbside for free.
I thanked the neighbor when dash and I went for a walk.
The far right one...I had it in the pantry it is the same as the others.
Red lidded prepped foods and left overs.
All in one place in the refer.
Now uniform size containers work best for good space savers.

Enjoy the meal making by less to do when the day is worn as well as you own self tired.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
