Love has a way of pulling the corners into a smile.

Life with the passage of my fifth decade has called into thought the years yet to come. Questions asked has left me seeing that a new direction is at hand. The wonderful studio has been kept a sewing center for many years. Sewing is a skill and a talent practiced most of my adult life. With a Professional Seamstress for a sister, and a Mother in Love I have been greatly encouraged to pursue this art. An art, that is not for me, a passion. Rarely in my life has sewing really thrilled me like those things that set a fire. It has been warm never burning. So with great stillness my heart searched has reveled to me that it is a side hobbie and an industrial skill to help my family. Listening is a real act of love toward my heart.

Clutter is so stifling. Our garage has accumulated a large collection of unused items. In the passages of time all manner of once treasured things have now become a weight. We are going to continue to weed through things to lighten our load. The fabric in the bins is mostly from when my sister shut down her home to move out East. Her loss will get returned to her. That will open up those bins to store my own fabrics.

We moved the bike and now Dash has that window for his computer. Tucked in a nice snug space with windows to brighten his days. More images to come. This act of kindness really gave me wings to clear out stuff. My husband and I are so in love. His kindness overwhelms me. We had a chance to have a date yesterday. He insisted on getting me a new pillow. Mine disappeared, we think that one of the children took it to hold onto my scent. The woman at the store mentioned it. We remembered that years ago the kids needed a shirt or fabric I rubbed on myself to console them. It was the way we kept them calm. We are pretty sure that is what happened to it. The age that they are makes them embarrassed to admit it. That's alright, I now how that feels and how good it feels not being exposed.Very good trick for dogs too if your going away for a few days trip. We found good pillows finally at Dillards. Steve insisted on a GOOD down pillow. After last night the gratitude in seeing why he would not skimp on it wells within me. It actually silenced the cpap machine. The other pillow amplified it through the poly fiber.

Dash is doing much better, yesterday he was stressed over math. He felt bad about crying. Gently reminding him that he was tired and had had a full weekend helped. He is now giving word to feelings, much better.
It is so wonderful that the bike was not sold. It is used daily more than once.
It is raining here this early morning. Seven a.m., Steve's alarm went off and woke me. Felt good to get up even though little sleep met me last night.  It is a good day to be loved, to smile and dance. This morning will find me fetching a new leg brace for the left leg. I am so happy not to have to do the other total knee this year. I'll post more images as the studio progresses. It is slower going these days. That is one reason I really want to consider what it is I want to do with my days .

Tackle it Tuesday

My big task is to get all this medication into me to kill the abscess in my jaw

The trick is to keep it down and remember to get it all taken by days end.
One down..
That means I ate and took it.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

This is another desire to do.
The skirt around the cutting table is being changed.
The former skirt is now being used as a valance.
I have to remove the velcro from it and then sew it on this skirt when I am able to sew it.

I got the yardage cut into 5 -36 inch section and pinned, with the salvage edge trimmed off.

The blue bird is taken from the idea of my "solo flight print.
This room is turning into the blues.

I was able so far to mix the cookies and when I am able to I will get back up and scoop and bake.
My Knee needs to rest.
I do not want to over do it and miss out on the best part of the day...
working in Dash's class with the kids.

After lunch I will go over to the elementary to teach the children reading skills.

Ya I just got home
My girl friend gave me a lift to the truck at the other end of the parking lot.
I actually asked for help

I so enjoyed this group today.
The teacher switched me to the At Risk Group.
One very shy girl well she is no stranger now!
Glory this baby opened up!
They were a group of four girls and one boy.
Two of them recognized me from last years Art Masters Program I taught them.
It was nice.
Now I rest!

Then Supper
Laundry is separated and a load washed.
Little by little I will try to do some more.

Thankful Thrusday

Thoughtful kindness
it wrapped me up
words so sweet tied me in a bow
Sent through the air like a song on the wind
it was a serenata to my soul

Thank you for all your kind comments.

Seeing all those years of my life
gave me a day paused in anger of it all.
I suppose it is in that, a gift of strength
I was given
not a pleasant day for me...

I pushed through the day
This my goal
I found every trinket
a symbol of life
Those days that I knew.

While I was out with the family the night before they took me to the
Hobby lobby
All charms 50% off so I got 8 of them (2 for a $1.50)
The rest were a collection acquired over so many years.
So yesterday just for me I set to task
With a broken pliers
I pressed on, 6 hours I spent doing...
No chores no duties
just sat and created this
My gift to me.

Dove called it all of my talents
She is so perceptive it really nailed it.

I have been nursing this burn on my wrist all week.
WoW it is a painful wound!

On tuesday afternoon my children took the phone into the bathroom
A covert opperation
Hubby comes home half an hour early...

Well I ,(embarrased) grab the chicken out of the refrigerator and put it in the sink to prepare to bake it.
He reaches over and touches my hand...

The kids and I thought we would take you out for your birthday tonight, instead of tomorrow...

When asked what I would like for my gift I tought ...
Well I do have a tree in the budget for the yard...We need a tree...
We went to three nursery's...all were closed.

When we were on the way to get a meal out... in conversation...
Steve proceeds to tell me of a radio show where a business just gave all of their employees a 10% raise!
The company much like us were living on the principles of NO DEBT...Hobby Lobby!
My heart flipped!!!!
Hobby Lobby! He looked at me and I blushed...he asked "would you like to go there instead for your birthday gift?"

Oh. Oh. Oh! yes I would!
So off we traveled, to our surprise we were only about a mile from there.

Steve took the kids for a walk,
I got to just peruse the store for a good 45 minutes,
choose what I might like for my birthday...
This is what I chose.

It was so cool all of this 50% off!
Within my self imposed budget. This is for my pans.
My back is so sore sometimes getting down to get them out from under...
It is not an easy thing when you can not bend down on your knees.
We had talked of looking into one of these some day.

Isn't she beautiful!

These for the front door
When we had our house before this it was a Victorian (Edwardian) decor.
I missed the doorway I had created and this is my way of saying "this is my home".

Thank you for the sweet cards...
I had a better image but it showed too much :}

This morning a child's mom stopped by to say hello.
She is old of work so I shared some food with her.
We had a nice cup of coffee together.
Please pray for her family, her mother had a lung removed Monday and she is having complications.
We do not share the same faith, yet we are able to enjoy each other.
She really likes me a lot and like to take tame and be with me.
If We can shine "light " into each other.
I know where my light comes from...
She respects that and still enjoys being with me...perhaps one day.
I do show her and her culture respect and do not provoke a divisive "re-action" to our difference.
We are able to have a level of mutual respect and pleasant conversation.

I puzzle her. She does not understand my resiliency.
When she has ear I will make it much more clear to her.
It was a nice time of mutual support.
She had gifted me this box.

Funny....
two days ago I had one in hand at the dollar store.
I told God that I would let him supply it;)
I told he I had done so.
It meant a lot to her.
HIS ways are above ours.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!
Excuse me , but I just got a call from my BIG brother .
He called to wish me HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!
It has been many many years (6 yrs) sence we have spoken!
He then had to excuse himself to call me right back for he got a work related call..
I better get off of here for when he calls back.

He called back and we had a great talk.
Wow He loves me...

Thankful on this Thursday!

Wall paper boarder in bathroom , sewing room decor

Beloved hung the hooks for my dress forms.
I use these when I am making clothing for the family.
The beauty of the forms is also for me Art of a simple kind.

He hung the double hooks so I will then be able to hang the garments on the hooks as well.
I will have good lighting to pin and alter near the door.

I know they are nudes but they are beautiful.
To them who are pure all things are pure.
There is a fellow I see at the bus stop in the mornings and he photographs jewelery professionally.
He is teaching me about photography in regards to jewelry. If I ever get my courage up and start me Etsy store these will also be used for display.

I saw this this morning so...

begin , I the task of papering the guest /kids bath. I found this boarder for $1.60 a 15 ft roll, some time back. I was just taking a time out. I finished the light fixture trim, having to do so with the fixture in place. So with the hardest part done. Now rested I will go play some more. I really enjoy wall papering. It is a skill I have developed over many a year. These little boarders are an easy way to spruse up a room. I think it will take up just 4 rols at most. Just because I like to relax and trim easily. I am sure if it were expensive I would be much less generous with myself then as to waste it.
A $6. job perhaps, and it was too cute for the theme I was shooting for.
I just know it was Gods provision. He and I play like that. I just receive what he offers , and boy does he have good taste.

I really liked the way it turned out. It is finished all the way to the window, it just does not show in this picture.
All done with the paper. Know I just have to do the fun part to decorate it.

Older women likewise teach the younger women...

• how to love their husbands
• how to love their children
• how to be self-controlled
• how to be pure
• how to be keepers at home
• how to be kind and submissive (not subservient) to their own husbands. (See Titus 2:3-5)

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Words have power. Here are a few of my favorite sayings.

  • A warm cup of tea is like a cuddle with a friend.
  • The North American Indians have a more eloquent word for ‘friend’ than we do in English. In their language, the word for friend literally means, “the one who carries my sorrows on his back.”
  • Return with Honor
  • The sage anticipates things that are difficult while they are easy, and does things that would become great while they are small. All difficult things in the world are sure to arise from a previous state in which they were easy, and all great things from one in which they were small. Therefore the sage, while he never does what is great, is able on that account to accomplish the greatest things."
  • "HOME IS WHERE YOUR STORY BEGINS"
  • “Live so that when your children hear these words they think of you… Fairness Caring Integrity Honesty Love Trust.”
  • "O Lord help my words to be gracious and tender today, for tomarrow I may have to eat them."
  • "No man has ever been shot while doing the dishes"
